The military occupation of DC has everything to do with credible threats by Qanon and

lol? Do you think this was funny? WTF. It was the most dangerous attack on the US system of government since the Civil War.

really?

wasn't 1983 worse?.....

Your compatriot SmarterThanYou favored truck bombs like his hero Timothy McVeigh. No doubt simpler bombs/IEDs would suffice for him.

Anthony Warner's detonation was done to minimize damage. What if someone did the same thing but decided to maximize the damage regardless of how many innocent Americans died as a result? STY called them "collateral damage".

Wasn't one of the terrorists who was arrested found with a truck full of Molotov cocktails and guns, and weren't IEDs found around the city that day?

Just a reminder, the no ammo and no riot gear directive was set in place before Biden was even sworn in, so......

Well, that’s an astounding level of idiocy even for the federal government.

Wtf do they intend to do if Q ever goes beyond the aspirational stage? Spit on them?

They would be issued ammo within minutes, that clear it up?

Bullshit. you are speculating this, but in reality that kind of logistical deployment of arms left up to reservists would take a few minutes longer than "minutes". we had this discussion.

True we have discussed this and we did not agree then, as we do not agree now.

You weren't in the guard, logistics at least according to those I know still in the guard, have confirmed there is no instructions on how to get ammo and magazines. of course I cant confirm this due to OPSEC but really, the evidence shows that they are not armed and could not be given ammo and magazines in "minutes".

furthermore, lets pretend you are right. if this was the mega insurrection civil war, your ilk thought it was, why not arm them, unless you all dont' really think there is a threat

Yes.

Pipe bombs. IED is technically correct, but there's a difference between stuffing gunpowder into a 1.5 inch lead pipe with a fuse and wiring a 105mm artillery shell to a burner phone. Thanks the US Forever Wars, we have lots of vets who know how to make an IED from their service in both Afghanistan and Iraq.

The bomber hasn't been caught AFAIK. Unknown if there are suspects yet.

There was a video clip taken from a surveillance camera that showed a slight figure (woman, maybe?) in a hoody who was suspected of planting them. No catches yet, though?

Agreed. Usually a senior NCO or Officer had ready access to a locked box full of loaded magazines. The troops, depending upon experience, might also be carrying a loaded magazine in a pocket or ammo pouch and not inserted in the weapon until ordered.

Regardless, the plan of January 6th didn't include the presence of the National Guard even though testimony proves they were on standby and ready to be deployed.

Note the NG on the Lincoln Memorial steps aren't even armed: https://bostonglobe-prod.cdn.arcpub...om/bostonglobe/JNYSBWQPUVXEJ7J7HXAL57UPVQ.jpg

These NG guarding the Capitol have weapons, but no magazines in their wells. https://media.defense.gov/2021/Jan/14/2002564842/600/400/0/210113-Z-NI803-1128.JPG

No catches yet. It's probably a man. No doubt Federal forensics experts have analyzed the video to determine most likely gender.
