The most noteworthy miracles believed by Religionists and by Atheists

Agree.
I'm not a quantum physicist either, but there has been a lot written by physicists about what what might have been happening before the big bang, and that topic has always interested me
You know about it more than I do. My level of physics is limited to building a golf ball launching trebuchet. :)

I often post in good faith but you just attack me.

You are such a piece of shit.
Posting in good faith 70 percent of the time is still an act of bad faith.

Creating sock puppets and then lying about it is an act of bad faith.

Imagine living with that much anger and resentment.
Agreed. TBH, that's the part that interests me the most: Why?

IMO, people who harbor so much anger, hate and resentment usually suffered some form of trauma. In Perry's case, it was the trauma of growing up with mental deficiencies and being bullied in school. It's possible his school was too poor to have a Special Ed class or, even if they did, he still had to ride the long bus with the regular kids who tormented him for being a "tard".

Others, such as ex-Captain Earl and CO/goat, suffered trauma as adults and it really pisses them off as shown by their posts.

I defer to your psychological analysis, but it is true that a dedicated armchair amateur psychologist would have a field day with this board.

It's been 40 years since I enrolled in an actual college physics class, but I like to keep up on my reading. :) Sadly, it has no practical value and I have to always congratulate the sensibility of my best friend who is rapidly becoming a master wood worker. :)

I never passed anything but HS physics. My readings are about psychology and space exploration. As a retiree, none have practical value, but I enjoy them.

Why don't you shut up about 'good faith'. Even when I post something that is in good faith you just insult.

You wouldn't know good faith if it was part of your own fucking philosophy.

You are such a repulsive scum,

And yet all you do is TROLL YOUR OWN THREAD.

Try answering the question, poseur.

I've asked a real quesiton and you are MAKING UP EXCUSES to not answer it.

SO much for your 'good faith" you amoral piece of shit.

LOL. I bet you understand the physics you read about as well as you understand the philosophy you claim to read but can never actually explain or talk about.

LOL.

YOU ARE A POSEUR.

When you are backed into a corner it's always SOMEONE ELSE'S FAULT.

Pathetic.

You are such a repulsive scum!

you amoral piece of shit!

I'll answer your question if you give me an honest and sincere answer to mine
So that means you think something can come from nothing.
You are just now learning that divine creation is a fundamental tenet of religious belief? That is what religionist believe.
Atheists by contrast are materialists, so they owe an explanation for it.
Or do you think that "animating force/gobbledygook new age handwavy thing you believe in is "eternal".
Interesting that you were so keen to run away from militant atheism and claim the mantle of non-judgmental live-and-let live atheism, but as per usual you ridicule and demean the intelligence of anyone with religious faith.
How is that different from someone believing that the universe is eternally in a state of bigbang-inflation-deflation-bigbang-inflation-deflation or that the membranes are eternal and their interactions which spark the existence of new universes?
Religion provides a first cause. What you are describing is how a mechanism works, but not a first cause.

Since the eternal logos, the Tao, the universal spirit, whatever you want to call it, is incorporeal and exists outside of space and time it is eternal by definition. As anything outside of time would be. Attempting to use mechanistic explanations just leads to an infinite regress of material causes - that is a logical reducto ad absurdum.

Now, your turn to answer my question:

What is the honest and sincere reason you created the sock puppet Daylight63, and then lied about doing so?

I'll answer your question if you give me an honest and sincere answer to mine

Fair enough.

You are just now learning that divine creation is a fundamental tenet of religious belief? That is what religionist believe. Atheists are materialists, so they owe an explanation for it.

Not an answer to the question. Keep going.

Religion provides a first cause. What you are describing is how a mechanism works, but not a first cause.

Doesn't explain how your position is different from atheism. Keep going.

As anything outside of time would be. Attempting to use mechanistic explanations just leads to an infinite regress of material causes - that is a logical reducto ad absurdum.

Not an answer to the question about how your position differs from atheism.

Please go back and reread the question again. Do it slowly so you catch all the words.

Now, your turn to answer my question:

What is the honest and sincere reason you created the sock puppet Daylight63, and then lied about doing so?

I didn't create it. Hope that answers it for you.

Do you have some reason to assume I did? If so what is that reason?

Now let's talk about "good faith". You never even TRIED to answer the question I asked. But answered yours.

How is that "good faith" on your part?

:lolup:So you claim to be a good faith poster, and then blatantly lie to my face.

Don't demand I answer any more of your questions in good faith, if you refuse to do the same.

I'm sorry, Cypress, but what makes you think I've created another account? I admitted to creating the NovoJank account which is never used anymore.

You are not allowed to ask a question "in good faith" and then simply dismiss the answer because you don't like it.

I am beginning to think you suffer far more cognitive deficits than I imagined.

Put up or shut up.

Also: you didn't answer the question. So you acted in bad faith.

You are describing yourself again, Sybil.

It's been 40 years since I enrolled in an actual college physics class, but I like to keep up on my reading. :) Sadly, it has no practical value and I have to always congratulate the sensibility of my best friend who is rapidly becoming a master wood worker. :)
Denying physics again, Sybil?

I'll answer your question if you give me an honest and sincere answer to mine

You are just now learning that divine creation is a fundamental tenet of religious belief?
No, it isn't, Sybil.
That is what religionist believe.
You are deeply religious, and you do not believe that.
Atheists by contrast are materialists, so they owe an explanation for it.
You are not an atheist, Sybil. You are deeply religious. A fundamentalist.
Interesting that you were so keen to run away from militant atheism
There is no such thing, Sybil. Buzzword fallacy.
and claim the mantle of non-judgmental live-and-let live atheism, but as per usual you ridicule and demean the intelligence of anyone with religious faith.
Nah. You just ridicule anyone of a different faith than yours.
Religion provides a first cause. What you are describing is how a mechanism works, but not a first cause.

Now, your turn to answer my question:

What is the honest and sincere reason you created the sock puppet Daylight63, and then lied about doing so?
For the simple reason you lie, Sybil.
