The Neo-Cons false claim

Yep, Regan signed the bill approving the use of the SS surplus as general tax revenues and used it to offset the defecit.
Also he massaged numbers by counting the military as employed in the unemployment figures, and removed their unemployment ins benefits when they got out of the service. Who says you can't have your cake and eat it too ?

Regan just had good astrologers advising him :D

Who's Regan?

Now this is selective memory syndrome ... was it this part of Reagan you didnt like ...or was it the part where he signed legislation raising the Social Security tax rate?

The Conservatives put Bush in office so Its clear Bush is what comes from a majority of convervatives voting.

I do agree however that Bush is not a true conservative. I respect true conservatives, in fact I belive there is some real merit to their arguments. I dont belive most Republicans are truely conservatives. But those who call themselves Conservatives are responsable for putting Bush in office TWICE!

No argument here .. actually this is well put.. sure Conservatives are responsible for Bush being in office ..but did you expect them to vote for John Kerry? And I will support Cypress' arguments that it is Conservatives fault for not challenging Bush in a primary .... this much is true. It was also the Dems fault for running someone so far out in left field... Kerry's voting record speaks for itself.. not to mention he is one of the most unproductive Senators ever.

Aside from a few issues that will separate me from others who consider themselves hard core Conservatives... I consider myself a genuine Conservative... but I will tell you this.. in 2004 had the Dems ran a well defined middle of the road Technocrat in the mold of Warner or Gore... I would have pulled the lever for that person.

Yes Alex and they can't squirm out from under that decision.
After all they are "the party of personal responsibility".

Hmm, well they ran Gore in 2000, so you just missed your chance :)

Again....why is this so hard for you to understand .... did you expect us to vote for John Kerry? Are you sniffing glue?

I think I voted for Gore every time he was on my ballot.

but after what bush had done to our country in his first 4 years I would have voted for peewee Herman before Bush in 2004. Cons just needed being beat on the head with it longer than I did.

Peewee Herman would have been an improvement over John Kerry .. ;)

I turned 18 the October before the election and I voted for Dukakis... but I supported Gore for the nomination.

virtually every republican voted to make bush president not once, but twice.

Virtually every republican senator and congressman has voted for nearly everything bush wanted.

Are you suggesting there are no core conservatives in the republican party?

He's saying the party has been hijacked by big government fascistocrats, similar to way the clintonistas and the dnc have hijacked the democrat party.
