It's not that Ariel is black it's that she was established as a white character and they changed her simply for political reasons.
She was always white, if they wanted her black they should have made her black to begin with.
Now Disney is making the live version of Snow White an Hispanic girl and she's never been Hispanic and they also removed the dwarves and made them into adults for political reasons.
If you create a history with a character you should keep that history, the message they are sending is that they no longer like white characters.
Why?
Who are you to dictate to the contents creators or owners that they must never change characters?
Why should they care about your tears and demands?
I grew up reading comic books, and every 10 years or so, they would completely reboot major characters with a new look, a new spin realizing it was the best way to sell more material to people who had already read it and also the new and growing audience.
You, not the owner or creator say 'Nooooooo. ONLY MEEEEE. You must only cater to MEEEEE or you will face my endless tears'.
But why? If the owner wants to change and refresh their material, why should your tears matter to them??
