The NFL is not going anywhere any time soon, and will continue to dominate the "watched" sports scene for as long as all the people here are alive...just as golf will continue to dominate the "participation" sports scene.

Yeah, pro football has had to make adjustments in the rules for the protection of participants...and the people who would love to see a return to Roman era gladatorial combat are complaining and will continue to complain.

I am REALLY enjoying baseball this season the most I have in many years. Football has always been my number one squeeze so to speak but last season just kind of did me in. The last 5/6 years it REALLY has a rigged up feel to it. Last year was the worst. Not saying it is rigged, but damned if it doesnt feel that way a lot of times. More and more people are feeling that way BTW. Now baseball? Its just a lot more PURE still. It may not be as exciting as football but at least it feels REAL. Its relaxing to kick back and watch a game,....nowhere near as tense as football. This season has been VERY enjoyable.

I sort of agree with that, though I think the indignation over black millionaire athletes publicly disrespecting the US by refusing to stand for the anthem, especially when it's in sympathy with the kinds of thugs and criminals at the center of it all, is more legitimate than the indignation over things like the refusal to use preferred pronouns when talking about sad, emotionally fucked up, gender confused trans clowns who aren't happy with the genitalia nature gave them.

One carries a certain amount of gravitas while the other is just silliness dressed up as a legitimate concern.

But yes, the right does play the victim card too.

Trumpers, J6ers, gun owners, Bible thumpers etc, have all done more than their share of whining and crying about being victims of unfairness.
