That would depend on how thew market and GDP got there, If just on more credit, and the GDP just goes up becuse of oil prices. Then we are still on the republican path to destruction.

I was not talking about the right wingnuts... I was referring to the general populace. If we continue to fall for the next five months, the populace will perceive his plan to be a failure, whether justified or not.

When it hits bottom it will start to slowly move up.

When the American people can see small improvement in their lives like, more jobs, fewer empty houses, thier 401ks not dropping anymore then you will see a sense that things are turning arround. People will start planning and moving ahead again instead of holding tight and not spending anything.

Its enough time to work right in the favor of the dems.

Then the Rs will be soundly blamed for creating the mess and the dems soundly credited with righting the ship.

Rs are in BIG trouble.

As I stated toppy, if the market rebounds to within 10% of where it was when he took over I think he will be perceived in a good light by the majority. He doesn't even need to be anywhere near 15k. (though if he is it will be a landslide for the dems)

As for the 3-4% GDP growth, as I said, it depends on where the base for that growth is. If we see another 10%+ decline in GDP for the remainder of 2009 and then see 3-4% growth in 2010, that won't be seen as a plus.

It all depends on how far we fall before the rebound begins.

The regulation we need is a rule against creating bubbles through selective regulation and deregulation.
