The official Election 2024 Thread...

Why do you believe that polling was inaccurate at the time?
There was no polling to be accurate or inaccurate. What was being peddled was fake "poll results" that were exactly the mentally assuring affirmations that desperate Kamala supporters needed in order to continue supporting Kamala and to continue HATING Donald Trump.

Why do you believe there was actual polling taking place?

Ask yourself people. Have you or anyone you know or anyone the people they know ever been polled?

The resounding answer you will get is "I've been inundated by text message polls and telephone call polls to my cell phone." The question you should ask is whether the results of those polls could legitimately indicate that Trump and Kamala were neck-and-neck in a race that was too closely tied to pick a winner, except for those areas in which Kamala was up by between 4 to 11 points. Why did none of the poll "results" splash the Kamala supporters with any cold water and say "Trump is out ahead on this one" or "It looks like Trump is clearly going to win"? After all, that was the underlying reality. All the fake "results" led to all the forecasters predicting Kamala winning, while none indicated the Trump-blowout that many Trump supporters knew was coming.

They went to MSDNC and filled out the push poll. Harris was ahead by twelvteen points!

I used to be polled every election at least twice. Not since cell phones became the norm though. Now the calls all go to voicemail because it isn't anyone I know.

And the only people they can get on the horn are old childless cat ladies now days:crybaby:

I believe actual polling takes place because I get polling calls.

... because you don't realize that those are political appeals to motivate you or to convert you, disguised as "polls" that just "want to ask you a few questions."

Why do you believe the results are fake?
Political calls are now done in lieu of walking door-to-door, and the results are measured by how you, the caller are affected, not by anything they might be tabulating ... because they only care about your answers to the extent that they guide subsequent questions.

Never have I once changed my mind on anything because of polling. Never once. You're answering questions. It's not Darth Vader sucking information out of your mind against you will.

So, asking a person a question in person is ok. That is polling that is legot. Asking them the same questions over the phone is, of course, some grand conspiracy to convert you and are "fake".

Does that about sum it up?

That's because the polling gives you your opinion and locks you in such that you can never be honest or rational on that particular matter.

It sounds like polling is another topic of which you know nothing. Obviously you think that the act of simply asking a question constitutes a valid poll and validates any subsequent "results."

That about sums it up.

Riiiight. So, as soon as Trump and Biden were officially the nominees, I knew I was voting for the Libertarian candidate, who wasn't even selected at the time. I knew this before I saw a single poll or received a single polling phone call. I also knew I was voting for Ruben Gallego over Kari Lake.... before I saw a single poll. Then, Biden dropped out, so I re-opened my options until they picked someone. They picked a horrible candidate, so I went back to voting Libertarian.

Between Kamala being selected and election day, I answered 3 separate polling phone calls. I saw TON of polls that swung hugely in Kamala's favor, then it swung in the other direction until it was, depending on the poll and the state, a statistical tie, Trump with varying leads and Kamala with varying degrees of leads. It was all very interesting to watch......

On election day I voted for Chase Oliver (L) and Ruben Gallegos (D).

"anything they might be tabulating..."

Out of curiosity, who is the "they" you are referring to? There are so many entities that do polling.....some higher quality, some lower quality....some are conducted by universities. All completely separate entities, doing their own work, so who is "they", this new boogeyman you've conjured up in your mind?
