Cubs: 1902 -1907 = 5 years to win first WS title (pre-WS, they won the NL pennant in 1870, which was their inaugural season, and again in 1876, with quite a few more through century end)

Mariners: 1977 - Present = 36 years without a WS title.

The Mariners have only won their division three times (1995, 1997, and 2001) and clinched a Wild Card in 2000. Four appearances in the playoffs, and three appearances in the ALCS.


Rookie of the Year Awards for Alvin Davis, Kazuhiro Sasaki, and Ichiro Sazuki. Manager of the Year Award for Lou Piniella. MVP Award for Griffey. Cy Young Awards for Randy and Felix.


That is literally it.
