this is the worst summer ever in Maine... it has rained all June and July, but it has done wonders for the new landscaping...that's for sure.

and the new paint job is holding up quite nicely.

how's the vinyl siding on the doublewide, RSR?

Are you sure you could waddle the course? The heat is terrible and would nto be good for that ticker of yours

Of course if you would fall over, that would be a hell of a big divot to replace

OK Maineman I'll start this challenge up front. I just checked my handicap (average) and its less than 7. That means that I'm 7% slower than Darin Rahlves, who's the national pacesetter. My best score was less than 5.

So if Tiger Woods has a -8 handicap, a comparable golf handicap would be 7% higher. Taking into account 72 par that equates to a -3 handicap.

What did you say your handicap is?

tiger woods does not have a handicap.

and I didn't say what my handicap was and have no intention of doing so unless we do so on the first tee, where such information is usually disclosed before the beginning of a match.

come on up...bring your sticks and your checkbook, and I'll show you my handicap card on the tee and we'll determine how many strokes you are going to be given to make the match fair.

Pro golfers don't have established handicaps because they're competing against each other one-to-one but that doesn't mean that they don't know what their average score is relative to par 72. Woods averages about 64, doesn't he? That would mean he's got an 8 handicap.

Why would I compete with you in a game that I do not enjoy? I don't expect you to ski race against me. No I think a fair contest is for you to do what you do best and for me to do the same. Doesn't that make sense?
