The public praise-fests for Trump

So public does not mean of or concerning the people as a whole?

If I say the public is outraged, and list only a plumber as an example, does that mean I only am discussing plumbers?

I'll repeat, idiot:

The OP was crystal clear.

CRYSTAL

There's your issue. You're using the word "public" as a subject.

Read my OP title again - I was using it as an adjective. This is a true story: I thought it was the most obvious thing ever what I was talking about, given the news-saturation of that tax announcement ceremony. Once again, the ignorance of some righties about what's happening in the news surprises me.

Liar

I'm surprised that there isn't a thread on this (or maybe I just missed it).

It is really surreal stuff; I can't recall a Presidency where there was anything like it. "Exquisite Presidential leadership?"

Bill Kristol just said it reminded him of a banana republic. We're in a whole new era of ego right now.

The weekly standard is an asswipe, Kristol is neocon scum, and Trump is governing more conservative than even Reagan.

That is not the definition, you little liar. It doesn't mean everyone in the world.

You're incapable of honesty.

I'd only challenge you to go back & read your responses on this thread. You really do hyperventilate when you think you have a "gotcha."

I figured everyone would know what I was talking about. What "praise fests" did you think I was referring to? You won't answer that, because it essentially makes the minutiae that you got caught up in a waste of time.

And again - I clarified it in post #8, because I realize that it wasn't as obvious to the righties who now seem to be boycotting the news.

But look what you did to this thread; rather than comment on the subject of the OP - either way - you got so hung up on this completely fabricated "gotcha." It's kind of what you do.

Everybody knows what NL stands for, are you too cowardly to spell it out?

I thought this picture would warm your cold, black heart this holiday season.

If you know, I have no need to do so.

You were wrong.

so, let's go back to the OP.....why shouldn't EVERYONE acknowledge that the tax cut passed, fulfilling yet another of Trump's campaign promises......truly making America great again.......three cheers for the Donald!......

"Exquisite Presidential leadership?"

what would you call it......solidarity from the opposition party......weak support due to never-trumpers and swamp creatures within his own party.......90% plus negative reporting from the Demmystream media.....and tax cuts pass......is that how you define "idiot" or "failure"......its been a year now.....isn't it time for demmycrats to pull that stick out of their ass and start to work together with us to make America great again?......do you want to go into 2018 and face voters who know that America is becoming great DESPITE you?......

Ouch.

Thursday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,”host Joe Scarborough criticized Speaker of the House Paul Ryan (R-WI), Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-UT) for “fawning” over President Donald Trump in public while in private they “mock” him and say he “is a horrific president.”

After playing video of McConnell, Ryan and Hatch praising the president after lawmakers passed the tax bill, Scarborough said, “Most autocrats around the world would be embarrassed to have so many people fawning over them in public like that. You looked at what Mike Pence said in the Cabinet room also, I’m really serious here, you wonder, of course, it was such a gross display that of course Donald Trump as Donald Trump always does gets in his way of a successful day for the Republican party, for himself and for the biggest corporations in the world.”

He continued, “They knew that just like the Saudis and foreign leaders know, the price of admission is sucking up and treating him like he’s the most insecure autocrat on the globe, but I wonder what man, what man of any character would sit and listen to that without saying ‘Stop, stop,’ and being embarrassed. And then, of course the question, especially for Mike Pence is what man with any dignity would do the sort of thing that these people did yesterday.”

“It was like a scene out of Julius Caesar yesterday on the south lawn of the White House,” Matthews said. “One by one Republican leaders lined up to praise his eminence, the imperious Donald Trump.”

Yamiche Alcindor, an MSNBC analyst and Capitol Hill reporter at The New York Times said that even the president could tell the performance smelled fishy.

“Eleven people in total, I think, went up there and stood up there and talked about how great he was,” she said, “when we know as Capitol Hill reporters you get eye rolls from a lot of these Republicans when you try to ask them off the record what they think about this president.”

“Most of the time they’re highly embarrassed by what he’s tweeted that morning,” Alcindor continued, “so to have Orrin Hatch up there calling him ‘possibly the best president ever’ — [Trump] knows there’s some flattering going on there and that it’s not quite genuine.”

Never-Trump conservative Charlie Sykes had even stronger words for his fellow Republicans.

“I get that they were excited, I get that they like tax cuts,” he said, “but why do you actually have this ritualized fluffing of the orange god-king?”

While it’s clear that their heaped praise is a “tactic” to “keep [Trump] in line,” Sykes said he felt like warning his party mates as he was watching their press conference.

“Do you understand you’re doing this in public, we can see what you’re doing here?” he joked. “I mean, this is great, Paul [Ryan], you got your tax cuts. But have a little pride, just a little bit of dignity left when all this is over.”

Word is that insiders at the WH are already preparing to lose both houses of Congress in '18.

If I was the Dem party, I would definitely want to go into '18 as the only party that really cares about the working class, healthcare & equality.
