Haven't read the thread yet, but the Qanon group of newbs were complicit in helping plan recon. in the days leading up to the insurrection.

They CANNOT have that coming out in public

trump was extinguished in the nick of time. Not unlike Hitler, who came back to destroy Germany, trump believes that he too will return to power.

Given another 4 years, trump would have attempted to do as much damage as Hitler. He already had concentration camps torturing 'others' with the blessing of half of the nation.

Bingo. Those terrorists did not show up armed with zip ties, tasers, nooses, bear spray, etc. spontaneously. There is plenty of evidence (and security video) showing some of them being escorted around inside -- by congresscritters -- prior to the attack. McCarthy knows this. That's why he's determined to roadblock the committee members, and cast as much shade on the investigation as possible. Fox, OANN, Newsmax and the other Reichwing propaganda machines will aid and abet.

At the very least, staffers from these Congressional criminals were giving tours to afford the actual criminals plausible deniability
 
I can think of 5 reasons Repukes would oppose off the cuff.

They are traitors
They supported Trump
Trump tried to overthrow the government
Conservatives will be shown to be complicit
The USA will reject them at the polls.
