Every big U.S. election is interesting, but the coming midterms are fascinating for a reason most commentators forget to mention: The Democrats have no issues. The economy is booming and America’s international position is strong. In foreign affairs, the U.S. has remembered in the nick of time what Machiavelli advised princes five centuries ago: Don’t seek to be loved, seek to be feared.

The contrast with the Obama years must be painful for any honest leftist. For future generations, the Kavanaugh fight will stand as a marker of the Democratic Party’s intellectual bankruptcy, the flashing red light on the dashboard that says “Empty.” The left is beaten.

I wonder why the mistaken idea that we "hate" Trump is so popular with the RW? Yes, he's a despicable frequent liar, cheat, blowhard, bully, rather stupid con man -- but hate him? He's not worth it.

Hate is a powerful emotion. I reserve it for war and injustice. I’m like you, I despise Trump’s action, but I don’t know him personally, so I don’t know if I could hate him. I can’t think of anyone I know personally that I hate.

As a native New Yorker, I hate Trump because we have always known what a thieving POS he is and always has been. He is allowing toxic pollutants to prevail which harms the health of the kids and the elderly in my family so I hate him for that as well. I especially detest him for opening a bogus university for the sole purpose of ripping off hard working Americans of their savings. A good day would be waking up to hear that he keeled over on his golf course due to his lard filled arteries and can no longer screw anyone over or poison them. And most of all, greed is a disgusting repulsive vice and worthy of contempt and hatred.

And btw OP...Brat "Pickled Liver" Kavanaugh is also a lying POS that is in place because he is an entitled corporate tool. He was as guilty as the day is long.

Democrats didn't do anything in the midterms than any opposition party does. Democrats lost MASSIVELY and by much larger margins during Obama's Presidency, yet, you dishonest hacks declared that was not a mandate and continued to support Obama's dishonest, partisan, divisive agenda.
