Kimmel was saying that is what the priority for magats was after the shooting, announcing it was not a rightie and pointing the finger at lefties. Not grieving his death. Not trying to unite the country.

Agreed on that being the new standard.
If Fox News or other right wing media is shown to lie then they should also be forced to fire all the people spreading the lies and face other gov't sanctions.
Free speech should now involve gov't punishing lies and i support that change.

Just a guess, Kimmel's show, with its major ratings drops, was likely losing ABC money. His contract was up next year, but all contracts have a morality clause, which ABC probably figured was their out, and the rest is history.True that. With Kimmel they were going to lose money once the affiliates started dropping the show. Though I think they could have turned that around with Kimmel correcting the record. I'm not sure why salting the fields was where they took this. Maybe they wanted to change Late <hate> Night TV for some time but had contracts that made it impossible without a reason.

Former President Barack Obama commented on ABC's decision to indefinitely pull "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" over the host's remarks about the assassination of Charlie Kirk. He accused the Trump administration of taking cancel culture to a "dangerous level" by "threatening" media companies to fire or censor people they do not like.

Gov't cracks downs on free speech, when it comes to lies needs to be the new standard. I stand with Earl in speaking out against what Carr used to say and believe and welcome the enforcing of this standard.
