The right cancels Kimmel

I'm not playing whataboutism here. I'm talking about this specific situation and the fact that is was completely inappropriate for the FCC to threaten Kimmel....

As noted by the FCC chairman.

It is completely appropriate. The frequency spectrum is managed by the FCC. ALL stations obtaining a license MUST conform to the public interest. Slander is not in the public interest.

What took Kimmel off the air was the ADVERTISERS pressuring Disney. What the FCC chairman would call 'the easy way'.

Now you guys need to go after Fallon. While you're silencing voices of the opposition, you might as well be thorough - don't forget to cancel Maddow and O'Donnel!

Yes, there was a threat by the FCC for speech that didn't violate an FCC regulation. You're ok with that? You're ok with the federal government threatening people/businesses with consequences for using legal, protected speech?
Kimmel got Kimmel fired you brainless moron. :palm:

"Certainly no threats"

These were the FCC Chair's comments:

“We can do this the easy way or the hard way,” Carr said. “These companies can find ways to change conduct and take actions on Kimmel, or there’s going to be additional work for the FCC ahead.”
And speaking on Fox Wednesday night, Carr suggested broadcasters would see more of this kind of pressure in the future.

“We at the FCC are going to force the public interest obligation. There are broadcasters out there that don’t like it, they can turn in their license in to the FCC,” Carr said. “But that’s our job. Again, we’re making some progress now.”

You are so dishonest, I'm actually embarrassed for you.

Apparently nobody has truly listened to what Kimmel said, because all he did was repeat the narrative the right was trying to put out there, that's all he said and then made a funny as hell joke about the clown in chief, Trump and that's what took him off the air, although he was slotted to be cut by Trump anyways....but here's the deal, ABC back in the 70's had a hit show called Three's Company...yall remember that? It was the first show to introduce a gay character and sexual overtones....All over the country, conservatives were having meltdowns over this. But ABC never took ran, never compromised, never took to the cries from the right. No FCC got involved, no president was giving a fuck, ABC survived it all. Fast forward, now because of Trump the fuckin cry baby, now ABC got balls of cotton and want to cave.
Yet.

MAGA isn't a person who can be slandered.

FAIL.

So, you're ok with the FCC publicly threatening ABC/Disney?
They didn't threaten ABC/Disney. It's called a WARNING you brainless dumbass.

"In some quarters, there's a very concerted effort to try to lie to the American people about the nature … of one of the most significant newsworthy public interest acts that we've seen in a long time in what appears to be an action by Jimmy Kimmel to play into that narrative that this was somehow a MAGA or a Republican-motivated person," Carr told host Benny Johnson.

"And I've been very clear from the moment that I have become chairman of the FCC, I want to reinvigorate the public interest. And what people don't understand is that the broadcasters, and you've gotten this right, are entirely different than people that use other forms of communication. They have a license granted by us at the FCC, and that comes with it an obligation to operate in the public interest," the official added.

"Look, we can do this the easy way or the hard way. These companies can find ways to change conduct, to take action, frankly, on Kimmel, or, you know, there's going to be additional work for the FCC ahead."

Projection

The process of displacing one’s feelings onto a different person, animal, or object. The term is most commonly used to describe defensive projection—attributing one’s own unacceptable urges to another.
I guess Projection explains why you keep posting the meme of someone screaming while in a straight jacket.

This is why so many Americans think Trump and his thugs are fascists: https://paulazabkar.com/standing-for-truth/
When I was in the seventh grade, our teacher put on a video and told us to take notes. Ten minutes in, she threw the lights on and shouted at Steven Webb Sladki, telling him he wasn’t taking notes and he should have been. But the thing was, Steve was taking notes. I saw it. We all saw it. The teacher asked if anyone wanted to stand up for Steve. A few of us choked out some words of defense but were immediately squashed. Quickly, we were all very silent. Steve was sent to the principal’s office. The teacher came back in the room and said something like “See how easy that was?” We were reading Anne Frank. I started to understand. I thought now was a good time to share this story. Don’t ever let anyone tell you that what you see with your own eyes is not happening.
