The Schumer shutdown slithers on

Schumer is a Senator. The US House is controlled by the GOP and they have yet to even meet for a single day since the government shut down.

The House already passed the CR.

The U.S. House of Representatives passed the Continuing Resolution (H.R. 5371, the Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, 2026) on September 19, 2025. This bill extended federal funding through November 21, 2025, to avoid a shutdown starting October 1, 2025, but it failed multiple votes in the Senate, leading to the ongoing government shutdown.

The Senate requires 60 votes to overcome a filibuster and advance most legislation, including this CR. With only 53 Republicans, we need at least 7 Democrat votes to pass it.

It can't pass the Senate without 60 votes. Got it?

The House has refused to meet to pass a bill to pay the military during the shutdown.

They are refusing to meet because then they would have to actually seat the Dem House member that won her seat weeks ago and it would then require them vote on releasing the Epstein files.

So basically, the military isn't getting paid so that the GOP can protect the names of pedophiles becoming public.

That's incorrect. The House holds brief "pro forma" sessions every few days (as required by the Constitution).

Piecemeal bills linked to military pay are political stunts by Democrats.

GOP leadership, led by Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA), is prioritizing a "clean" continuing resolution (CR) to reopen the full government before any other votes take place.

The Trump administration announced on October 11 that it would reallocate ~$8 billion from prior fiscal-year funds to cover the October 15 military paycheck. This was done.

There have been past instances in U.S. history where new members of the House of Representatives had their seating delayed due to a government shutdown. Alleging (without evidence) that the GOP refuses to pass a "dirty" CR because they don't want to seat Adelita Grijalva is specious, at best.

Trump took care of that. The military will be getting paid. Trump didn't want our troops to get caught up in the crossfire.

Nope. They are simply not convening because the ball is in the Senate's court, and Schumer is simply obstructing.

So basically, the military isn't getting paid ...
... except that they are getting paid, thanks to Trump's philanthropy.

It's time to take your meds. The Epstein hoax has no "names".

Just when you think cult members couldn't be any stupider along comes Diogenes to prove they can be. The Constitution doesn't set any time for when Congress has to be in session. If Congress was actually in session it would be required to swear in new members. The GOP is only protecting pedophiles by hiding the Epstein files.

Leave it to a cult member to claim military pay is a stunt. Except of course those same cult members think it is OK for their dear cult leader to violate the law and pay those same military members with funds not appropriated by Congress as required by the Constitution.

This is a violation of the Constitution since only Congress can decide what money is spent where. Unless you want to admit that a President AOC can take the funding from ICE and use it to pay for health care for anyone she wants to.

Show me when this occurred. What member of Congress was refused to be seated during a shut down. What has happened just recently is Mike Johnson did seat GOP members when the House was only conducting Pro Forma Sessions.
