Hmm the supremes said that the federal mandatory guidelines on higher sentences for crack cocane than straight coke are just guidelines and Judges can use their descretion.

Remember 17 year old that was charged with "Child molestation" for getting a blowjob from a 15 year old? They actually got rid of the mandatory minimums in Georgia for the crime beecause of the outrage it caused whenever his story was broke. The law didn't effect his sentence. He's still got 6 more years to go before he's even eligible for parole.

He actually owns the state government, and is the "kingmaker" behind the scenes, secretly controlling all decisions and deciding who gets elected and who doesn't. I don't make that public, though, because I don't want him to come down on me.

He was briefly ousted by "The Emperer", but clearly that didn't last long.

No, it's not retroactive. I've actually never even heard of a sentencing reduction that was retroactive.

Wrong, many of these people will be haveing new sentencing hearing in front of a judge now that the judge is allowed to depart from the guidelines.

Can't the Ga Governor commute the lad's sentence? Or perhaps pardon him?

You forget the governor is a Social Conservative Republican, Sunny Perdue. Hell, he likely belives blow jobs should be illegal even for married couples.

I think if they are going to outlaw blowjobs, they should word it so that it is “especially” for married people, not “even” for married people. Because to tell you the truth once the magic is gone that is the first thing that gets dropped. Two years in, and I’m like, get out of here with that, would you? Why should some poor married lady not have the law to fall back on too…20 years into the marriage, you think she wants to do that? No way.

He could.

It's pretty odd, in the US system. Most people think that there is a national age of consent of 18, but in most jurisdictions it's actually 16 or 17. Children above that age are considered completely able to give 100% consent, and children below that are considered completely unable to give consent, even to 16 or 17 year olds. So, we have schoolchildren going to jail for having sex with each other. And we have 30 year old men taking advantage of 16 year olds without even being given a misdemeanor.

I think the age of consent in GA is 16. Why do you think the truck drivers like GA so much ?
