Your whole premise is bullshit from the jump. Go look up what an actual empire is (maybe crack a history book) before you sling the word around like some tinfoil-hat conspiracy nut. America is, and always has been, the leader of the Free World. Does that mean we've never screwed up or that everything we've done was perfect? Hell no. Because no system run by humans is ever perfect. Just ask yourself what system in history has ever worked better for more people.
This happens to be a very common mistake all libtards make as well, they convince themselves that if smart people like them were running things all the unfairness and problems would go away and Utopia would prevail.
If we were actually an empire, we'd likely be speaking another language by now, just like nearly every other empire that tried to rule with an iron fist, invade, destroy, and permanently own other countries and peoples. That's what empires do, and that's why they always fall.
So go ahead, start listing your moronic examples. Vietnam, Iraq, troops here or there, whatever. Try hard. It's a free country... for now, and only because we're not an empire.
For example a true empire would never grovel to Saudi Arabia about pumping more or less oil to help the US economy we would have simply and easily taken it for ourselves when discovered instead of partner with them and teach them how to get the oil from there vast reserves buried under the sand where they were having camel races before Western Civilization helped them discover the wealth they have enjoyed so much since.
There are countless examples how if America was an empire our map would look much different by now. I guess you could argue one nice little advantage if we were a real empire, we wouldn't be seeing a bunch of whiny little bitches getting in law enforcements face being paid to protest against legal law enforcement actions now would we? Empires don't look kindly on that sort of thing.
