The United States: The Next Decade

Not going to be a happy time for some

Demographic changes in the US will gain steam over the next decade. Whites will lose a considerable proportion of their share of the population while minorities, particularly Hispanics (Americans whose origins are in the Latin American countries), will increase their share.

The forecast for the coming years is not as good. Results for the last quarter of the decade show a slowing of growth and a decline in the main indexes. Trump will, however, try hard to sustain the thriving economy in the election year, as it is a serving president’s strongest card. That is the main reason why he is easing off on the trade war with China and holding talks to reach agreements that will benefit both sides. In the year following the elections, a slowdown is nevertheless anticipated, with output growing at less than 2%.

But then, liberals have already been unhappy for a little over 3 years; so do they get credit for "time served"??

When considering that Latino culture is generally more conservative on social issues than mainstream white culture, I'm fine with this.

The declining majority that tends to act aggressively, often imagining it must preempt a rising minority. Simply put, declining majorities don’t want to yield their status or hegemony.

This turns demographic shifts into a struggle about power and dominance, with elements of the majority refusing to cede ground to emergent new pluralities and majorities that might displace them.

Mirroring the decline in fortunes of the “angry white male” who supported President Trump is the declining fortunes of the Republican Party.

The current U.S. president leads a minority political party whose membership has been in decline for over two decades.

President Trump lost the general election by over 3 million votes. The number of U.S. citizens of voting age who identify as Republicans has dropped steadily since 1994, compared to those who identify as Democrat or Independent.

The GOP has managed its decline in exactly the same way a declining white majority population might have done: It has resorted to extreme gerrymandering, voter suppression, calls for limits on immigration, and now citizenship restrictions.

I think you misunderstand my argument here. I'm saying that if you look at Latino values, particularly regarding family, abortion, and views toward gays and transgenders, you'll see that they are generally more conservative than the average white person.

Even if these people stay loyal to the Democrats, their views will shift Democrats to a more conservative direction.

What party stays in power matters less than what policies are passed and what values are promoted. A more Latino Democratic party will ultimately be less SJW.

I look forward to the day when Latinos become the majority and start to support stricter immigration laws. As the article states, "declining majorities don’t want to yield their status or hegemony." That applies to Latinos as much as it applies to white people or anyone else.

If we look at Mexico's stances toward countries like Guatemala, we can see that many Mexicans don't like people south of them entering their country. Immigration stances in other Latin American countries can sometimes be similar toward neighboring countries.

Since there are significant differences in culture between people from each of these countries, whichever group becomes most numerous will likely push for restricting immigration from differing cultures.

The difference with Latinos doing it is that it will be doubtful that you will have as many social liberals fighting against it. The white guilt narrative doesn't really work on Latinos -- not even usually on Latinos of white heritage. So, a more Latino America will be less manipulated by various liberal narratives. They also aren't as likely to care about things like reparations or whatever the LGBT lobby is pushing for.
