So you lefties stop your nonsense of saying Trump is a threat to our democracy. It's you lefties that are and have been
a threat to our Constitutional Republic. Suck it up lefties. Like the guy in the video says, KNOW YOUR SHIT!

Tell that to @Publius . He's having a difficult time with that concept.
Incompetent rebuttal.
Sorry, I do not engage with incompetent morons.
Libhater is a politicsforum reject. This standards on this forum are much lower, of course.
Libhater posts a youtuber, wonderful, there are plenty of youtubers claiming America is a democracy and a republic, or republic and not a democracy, or neither, take your pick.

I'll go with Merriam-Webster AND Encyclopedia Britannica, and the Govs own website, all of which state that America is both a Republic and a Representative democracy.

The United States is a representative democracy.

The United States and France are republics that have played an important role in the adoption and spread of representative democracy.

The short answer is that democracy and republic are frequently used to mean the same thing

A democracy is most often a type of republic that elects it's leaders, either directly or indirectly, and the terms are not mutually exclusive.
A republic can be a nation of either elected or appointed leaders, as opposed to monarchy where leadership is inherited, so republic is the broader term and 'representative democracy' qualifies it even further. America is both a representative democracy and a constitutional republic.

So says Merriam-Webster
So says Encyclopedia Britannica
So says the US Government

So says both Repubs and Dems and Scholars in academia going back hundreds of years, and only recently have
Republicans been declaring that America is not a democracy, which they can't stand since they are enacting voter supression
legislation (which disproportionately effects urban neighborhoods) and they have won the popular vote twice in over 30 years.

A more robust explanation in this thread:

I never consented to either open borders or secret laws and secret courts....nor was my consent ever requested.

No, dumbass. This is a Democracy. A "constitutional republic" is a form of Democracy. Get an education before you embarrass yourself even more.

The term 'constitutional republic' is redundant. A republic is government by law (a constitution) already. Otherwise correct.

A democracy is government by popular vote. It has no constitution and no representatives.

An oligarchy is dictatorship by committee. This is what the Democrats want, and they want to try to rename it a 'democracy'. They truly believe they are 'The Elite', even though they are mostly thick as a brick and largely illiterate.

Incompetent rebuttal.
Argument of the Stone fallacy.

Mantra 1a. Lame.

The United States was never a democracy. It is organized as a federated republic (republics within a republic).
I'll go with Merriam-Webster AND Encyclopedia Britannica, and the Govs own website, all of which state that America is both a Republic and a Representative democracy.
Dictionaries don't define any word. Neither does any encyclopedia. Void reference fallacy.
The government does not define any word (other than internal acronyms) either.

Democracies have no representatives and no constitution. There is no such thing as a 'representative democracy'. A democracy is government by popular vote. There are not representatives and there is no constitution.

The United States was never a democracy.

Assumption of victory fallacy. Mantra 1a. Lame.

There is no such thing as 'representative democracy'. A democracy has no representatives.
A democracy is most often a type of republic that elects it's leaders, either directly or indirectly, and the terms are not mutually exclusive.
A democracy is not a republic. A democracy has no representatives. A democracy and a republic are mutually exclusive.
A republic can be a nation of either elected or appointed leaders,
A republic is government by law (a constitution). That constitution defines representatives, their authority, and their method of election. No constitution appoints anyone.

A democracy is government by popular vote. There is no constitution and there are no representatives.

The oligarchy YOU want is a dictatorship by committee. There is no constitution and the representatives are forced (at least until a revolt). An oligarchy isn't a democracy either.

A democracy is an unstable form of government. Sooner or later (usually sooner!) one faction gains control of the mob and the government dissolves into a dictatorship or oligarchy. Athens dissolved into a dictatorship. CHAZ dissolved into a brutal oligarchy.

as opposed to monarchy where leadership is inherited,
A monarchy is a dictatorship. The dictator usually bequeaths his dictatorship to his children (if any), but not necessarily.
so republic is the broader term
A republic is government by law (a constitution).
and 'representative democracy' qualifies it even further.
There is no such thing as a 'representative democracy'. Democracies have no representatives.
America is both a representative democracy and a constitutional republic.
Paradox. Irrational. Buzzword fallacies.
So says Merriam-Webster
So says Encyclopedia Britannica
So says the US Government
False authority fallacies.
So says both Repubs and Dems and Scholars in academia going back hundreds of years,
False authority fallacies. Omniscience fallacies.
and only recently have
Republicans been declaring that America is not a democracy,
Blatant lie.
which they can't stand since they are enacting voter supression
Inversion fallacy. DON'T TRY TO BLAME YOUR PROBLEMS ON REPUBLICANS OR TRUMP!
legislation (which disproportionately effects urban neighborhoods)
Compositional error fallacy.
and they have won the popular vote twice in over 30 years.
Buzzword fallacy. Argument from randU fallacy. Making shit up won't work.
A more robust explanation in this thread:

Repetition fallacy. False authority fallacy.

The oligarchy YOU want is not a democracy. A republic is not a democracy either.
The United States was never a democracy.

Why does this subtlety matter? Democracy vs Constitutional Republic blah blah blah. You guys just elected a Hitler Admirer. We're no longer on that particular axis of the conversation.

We're now in an entirely new dimension. One you haven't heard of before but those of us who read history have.

What 'sublety'?
Democracy vs Constitutional Republic blah blah blah.
There's quite a difference. The term 'constitutional republic' is redundant. Government by law (a constitution) IS a republic.
You guys just elected a Hitler Admirer.
Trump is not a socialist. DEMOCRATS ARE. DON'T TRY TO BLAME YOUR PROBLEMS ON TRUMP!
We're no longer on that particular axis of the conversation.
Blatant lie. Thought terminating cliche fallacy.
We're now in an entirely new dimension.
Nope. Same dimensions as before...length, width, height, and time. Turn off your Twilight Zone episode.
One you haven't heard of before but those of us who read history have.
You deny history.
