The short answer is that democracy and republic are frequently used to mean the same thing
A democracy is most often a type of republic that elects it's leaders, either directly or indirectly, and the terms are not mutually exclusive.
A republic can be a nation of either elected or appointed leaders, as opposed to monarchy where leadership is inherited, so republic is the broader term and 'representative democracy' qualifies it even further. America is both a representative democracy and a constitutional republic.

The term 'constitutional republic' is redundant. A republic is government by law (a constitution) already. Otherwise correct.
A democracy is government by popular vote. It has no constitution and no representatives.
An oligarchy is dictatorship by committee. This is what the Democrats want, and they want to try to rename it a 'democracy'. They truly believe they are 'The Elite', even though they are mostly thick as a brick and largely illiterate.
