Russia is much stronger internally and internationally than they were three years ago.I think what the U.S. and the rest of the West has done -has- hurt Russia, but hurt in the way a bear is hurt when you poke it sufficiently with a sharp stick- certainly enough to make it angry, but nowhere near a lethal blow. Which is a good thing, considering the dead hand:

Trump's efforts to reach some type of deal with Russia, while frequently clumsy, at least appear to be genuine. I think that Trump and his Administration are getting a much better idea of what it will take for a peace deal to finally be reached with Russia at this point.

Much stronger militarily, certainly. Results of poking Russia with the stick, you get an angry bear, and when we're talking about Russia, that bear gets armed to the teeth. America's subs are on par with the Russians, but we are having enormous trouble keeping them mission available.... because our shipyards are shit, the lack of crews and the poor training of the crews.

I fully admit I'm not following the finer points of the military capabilities of the great powers. Lacking more information on the subject, I'll take your word for these things for the time being. My main focus is that only the U.S. and Russia can essentially destroy the world.

On this point, I disagree- I do think that Trump is making -some- effort to avoid this fate, which I believe is why he even pulled out a literally pulled out a red carpet for Putin in Alaska.
Except for pissing people off irrelevant....Trump is too weak to do anything even if he wanted to.....and all he is doing with Ukraine is trying to avoid blame for America losing yet another war......a problem that would have been avoided had he taken America out when he entered office as he said he was going to do.

I certainly agree that Trump is dishonest a lot. I just hope he is able to avoid a nuclear war with Russia.
