APP - The Wealth Reality

You started off good but but it didn't take long to veer off course. The common sense dynamic is anything but common sense. That's the point.

No, it is common sense that as long as we live in a free capitalist society where people of all socio-economic classes share the same opportunity to succeed or fail, there will ALWAYS AND FOREVER be those who inherently earn more and people who inherently earn less, and there isn't a lot you can do about that in a free capitalist society. This is common sense. If I am free to earn whatever amount of wealth I desire, it's possible for me to earn more wealth than you, and continue to do so for as long as I am willing to work hard and be dedicated to that objective.

It is the size of the disparity between the contestants/competitors that's the problem.

But in a free capitalist society, this is a never-changing dynamic that will forever and always be the case. As long as people are free to earn whatever amount of wealth they desire, then some are going to earn more than others. The alternative is a system where no one is allowed to accumulate wealth, and everyone has relatively the same amount. However, such a system is a fantasy which only exists in the minds of Utopian Socialists. In reality, what happens is, the Ruling Class assumes the wealth and power, and the common individual has no such opportunity, they become serfs to the ruling class. Poverty, in a free capitalist society, can be escaped from, we know this because we have countless examples where this has happened. Serfdom, is not so easy to escape.

In your analogy the disparity between the pro and the novice is much greater than the disparity between the novices themselves. That's why this idea of wanting to make everyone equal is nonsense. No one here ever suggests everyone should be equal financially. They, and I, say the disparity should not be as great as it is. That's the point.

But the disparity is always going to be there in a free capitalist society because some people will naturally be more motivated than others, and there isn't a way to prevent this... AND keep free market capitalism. People who make a million dollars per year are going to increase their wealth $980k per year more than someone who makes $20k per year. The "disparity" will grow by another $980k next year, and the year after that, and so on. There is never going to be a time where someone earns a million per year but only increases their wealth a little bit more than someone who earns $20k a year, that universe doesn't exist.

I posted the definition of Socialism before but perhaps a reminder in in order. "Socialism: a theory or system of social organization that advocates the vesting of the ownership and control of the means of production and distribution, of capital, land, etc., in the community as a whole."

I don't need you to explain socialism to me. You advocate a Socialist Marxist system based on a Utopian philosophy that simply doesn't exist in reality. No one can convince you because you're one of these stubborn know-it-all jackasses who thinks he is right about everything, and refuses to do anything about your ignorance.

No one here is suggesting that. I, for one, say keep capitalism.

Fuck you, no you don't you goddamn liar. You mouth off daily about the evils of capitalism and the need for a government nanny state to care for everybody. You are a pathetic coward who isn't even brave enough to stand up for what you believe in.

List so 80 percent of the stock is owned by those of us in the top 6 percent.
You guys in the bottom 80 percent don't like to save.

People don’t share the same opportunity. A kid born in the ghetto has the same opportunity as the kid born to a CEO?

Let people accumulate all the wealth they want as long as they share some of it via taxes. As for this “ruling class” nonsense that’s the disconnect at the core of this conversation. Almost every socialist failure people point to in history was the result of violent takeovers. In those cases they were the “ruling class” as they didn’t have free elections. Obviously anyone who fights and overtakes someone is not going to say, “Here, help yourself to some stuff.” There are plenty of examples of countries with social policies that hold free elections and the citizens are very happy.

Fine. Let them make all the money they want and tax it. Again, no one is saying people shouldn’t be allowed to make money. The question is how much should they keep when others are suffering? And as for some people being more motivated I’m sure the hungry are motivated as are those who are losing their homes.

It’s obvious I do need to explain socialism to you because you don’t know what it is. You keep saying the word without knowing what you’re talking about. Socialism involves the state ownership of companies. No private business. When I have ever suggested that?

Fuck you, no you don't you goddamn liar. You mouth off daily about the evils of capitalism and the need for a government nanny state to care for everybody. You are a pathetic coward who isn't even brave enough to stand up for what you believe in.

Take a couple of deep breaths and try to relax. I have continually said capitalism should continue and the highly successful should be taxed to help the poor. Is that straightforward enough for you? And, please, learn what socialism is before you continue to brand something as socialism. It makes as much sense as Cuba permitting selected private markets to operate and saying Cuba is a capitalist country.

Learn instead of repeating what you heard in grade school. Someone sure put the fear of social programs in you.

People don’t share the same opportunity. A kid born in the ghetto has the same opportunity as the kid born to a CEO?

Go look up Oprah Winfrey and Mike Huckabee. They were not born to CEOs. In spite of being poor and raised in poverty, they both became uber-wealthy and successful. It's because we live in a society with a system which affords all people the same opportunity to succeed. You may say, well, that's just two people, but I can cite MILLIONS of people, who have risen from roots of impoverishment to become wealthy and successful. Those who haven't succeeded, it's not because they lacked opportunity.

It's important for people to know this. You and the other Marxists, seek to destroy capitalism, and relegate us to a perpetual 'caste' system, where the poor simply never have any opportunity to succeed, and the ruling class controls all opportunity. I prefer the capitalist system we have, where a child living in a dirt floor shack in Arkansas, or a tar paper shack in Mississippi, can rise to untold fortunes and success, through the free market system.
