There is no such thing as 'crony capitalism. Socialism is based on theft of wealth. Capitalism is the only system that creates wealth.
Capitalism has no slaves. Slavery is not capitalism. It is a form of socialism.

China is going to be fine, we are not....Americans who go to China are unnerved by how great Chinese cities are compared to ours, their tech, their transportation systems..they know instantly that they have been massively lied to....AND that the West is in deep shit.

Bailouts and subsidies is socialism for billionaires.
The 13th amendment says slavery is legal once they're locked in a cage.
Every US potus since WWII is guilty of violating the Geneva Conventions.
You cannot get elected to government without a billionaire business donor.

China is currently facing some very serious problems, including a currency velocity that is almost nil.
The cities are empty. Almost no one lives in some of them. The Chinese government is literally trying to spend their way to prosperity. They are even worse off than the federal government of the United States.

Transportation? They don't maintain their aircraft. Some of them have been grounded as unairworthy if they show up in another country. The stuff they do for aircraft 'maintenance' is downright scary.

China's technology level is less than other Asiatic nations. They do okay for mechanical, but they have very poor chip technology (getting most of that from Taiwan, South Korea, and Japan). They do okay for chemicals, particularly in lithium refining and rare earth production, but it's poorly regulated and some of it is quite unsafe to work there due to EXPLOSIONS and other hazards.

They tried to force EVs on their population, but with currency velocity almost nil, that failed spectacularly.

Many Chinese, if they have a way to do it, are fleeing the country, and for a reason.

No, it doesn't. It DOES mention involuntary servitude can be used as a punishment for a crime. Jail is not involuntary servitude.

I am very aboard the school of thought that all this chatter about how the children of Washington want to avoid a war with Iran and their friends is Bull Shit....like in Ukraine they want this war, they demand this war, but they want to look like it was all someone else's fault.

You're probably right. We've gotten ourselves into a complete mess now. We as a nation no longer even have a common experience of reality with each other.

In some sense I can see this as a really solid way to destroy America. We are a nation of "independent people" who have a tenuous grasp of what it means to be a cohesive single country to begin with (our eternal battles over states rights vs a central Federal government show that!) so someone coming in and leveraging differences among us to widen the gap would pay off handsomely as we are seeing now.

Plus China is busy building up good will all over the place with their Belt and Road initiative...and in the process getting their greedy little hands on some prime resources as well.

If we don't pull ourselves together and quickly we WILL go down hard.
