I have seen tens of thousands of buildings. I have eaten many cultivated plants. Not an inch of road has ever been miracled into place. Not one building, or even doghouse, has been miracled into existence. Not one furrow plowed in any field has ever been miracled into existence. Also, do you know why modern medicine exists? Because faith healing doesn't work. Oh I could go on and on. But would it make a difference?

The machinery inside them to produce whatever are things. Not people. They can't suffer and die. But people can. It is people who matter. Not any thing. As long as you have people, and they have food, shelter and clothing, the earth could quake with the things their work would do. There are no bounds to the possible accomplishments. A thing would just sit there like a log. Not moving, not thinking and not feeling.

Without capitalism, would it have happened? To paraphrase Calvin Coolidge, "The business of America IS business." I on the other hand think that the business of any country is its people. Not business. So the other trillion shouldn't have gone to business interests. It should have gone toward fighting the coronavirus.
