There is a distinct sense of déjà vu here

That appears to be the case with many not just her, science and politics should never be mixed. She does bother me though, there are moments when I detect some sentience and then she goes off on one again.

so let me get this straight.

YOU idiots refuse known science for political reasons.

so you accuse me (who is following known science) of being willing to trash known science for political reasons?

man are you people FUCKED in the head

What exactly are Al Gore's scientific credentials? Any scientist worth their salt is a sceptic, to be otherwise is to be a charlatan. I have tried several times to explain falsifiability to her but I might as well talk to the wall.

that is why hes backing known science asshole

that is why hes backing known science asshole

So what exactly is known? There has been no statistically significant warming for 17 years, which even the IPCC, Phil Jones (CRU) and the UK Met Office agree with, and all climate models have been hopelessly out of kilter with the empirical data. Care to add to that?

Will you stop!!
It's like teasing the cat, with a laser pointer. :palm:

known science is the scientific consensus of the vast majority who are trained in the field.

YOU DONT LIKE IT.

it doesn't FIT your politics.

so you trash it.

You want science to do your political bidding, it doesn't .

your answer to that is to trash science.

your no better than the assholes from the church who tried to FORCE science to fit religion

Gore backs known science on GW.

how is me stating that ignoranance?

what is it with righties ?

why do you insult people for giving you fucking facts?

Al Gore is an opportunistic prat who likes to sack people that are not on message.

Scientist fired by Al Gore was told, "science will not intrude on public policy".

Noted energy expert and Princeton physicist Dr. Will Happer has sharply criticized global warming alarmism. Happer, author of over 200 scientific papers and a past director of energy research at the Department of Energy, called fears over global warming "mistaken".

"I have spent a long research career studying physics that is closely related to the greenhouse effect", said Happer. "Fears about man-made global warming are unwarranted and are not based on good science."

Dr. Happer views climate change as a predominately natural process. "The earth's climate is changing now, as it always has. There is no evidence that the changes differ in any qualitative way from those of the past."

In 1991, Happer was appointed director of energy research for the US Department of Energy. In 1993, he testified before Congress that the scientific data didn't support widespread fears about the dangers of the ozone hole and global warming, remarks that caused then-Vice President Al Gore to fire him. "I was told that science was not going to intrude on public policy", he said. "I did not need the job that badly".

Happer's latest remarks were made yesterday, as he asked to be included in a Senate Environment and Public Works report of scientists disputing global warming alarmism. Happer joins 650 other scientists on the list, many of whom have been interviewed previously by DailyTech.

"Computer models used to generate frightening scenarios from increasing levels of carbon dioxide have scant credibility," Happer concluded.

In response to Happer's remarks, Senator James Inhofe, ranking minority member of the Environment and Public Works Committee, said, "The endless claims of a consensus on man-made global warming grow less and less credible every day".

More from Dr. Will Happer.

Princeton Physicist Dr. Will Happer refutes claims that global warming is causing record cold: ‘Polar vortices have been around forever. They have almost nothing to do with more CO2 in the atmosphere’

By: Marc Morano - Climate DepotJanuary 7, 2014 11:09 AM

Award-winning Princeton University Physicist Dr. Will Happer rejected the media and some scientists claims that the record U.S. cold is due to man-made global warming. Happer, explained the science in an exclusive interview with Climate Depot.

“Polar vortices have been around forever. They have almost nothing to do with more CO2 in the atmosphere,” Happer said in an exclusive interview with Climate Depot.
Happer continued: “Here is a thumbnail sketch of the physics. The poles have little sunshine even in summer, but especially in winter, like now in the Arctic. So the air over the poles rapidly gets bitterly cold because of radiation to dark space, with negligible replenishment of heat from sunlight. The sinking cold air is replaced by warmer air flowing in from the south at high altitudes. Since the earth is rotating, the air flowing in from the south has to start rotating faster to the west, just like a figure skater rotates faster if she pulls in her arms. This forms the polar vortex. The extremely cold air at the bottom of the vortex can be carried south by meanders of the jet stream at the edge of the vortex. We will have to live with polar vortices as long as the sun shines and the earth rotates.

Like any fluid system at “high Reynolds number,” the jet stream is highly unstable, and from time to time it develops meanders to low latitudes, like the one we have had the past few days. About this time of year in 1777, just before the Battle of Princeton, there was a similar sequence. On January 2, Cornwallis’s men marched south from New York City through cold rain and muddy roads to try to trap George Washington and his little Continental Army in Trenton . On the night of January 2-3, a polar vortex swept across New Jersey, with snow and a very hard freeze. Aided by the extremely cold weather, Washington was able to evacuate his troops and artillery over newly frozen roads and to avoid Cornwallis’s encirclement. Reaching Princeton on the viciously cold morning of January 3, Washington won another battle against the British and escaped to winter quarters in Morristown. Thank you polar vortex!
