A couple of smart asses decided to dress up as brown shirted Nazi's and give the Bush limo the Roman legionary salute. Conservatives in the crowd started getting violent with them and security had to remove them from the parade route.
Just think....in a few more hours our national embarrassment will be over and our Federal government will be back in competent hands again.

It happened during his first inauguration. Originally the intent was for Bush to walk part of the parade route but SS sensing a lot of hostility towards Bush in the crowd decided that wasn't such a great idea. His limo was hit with an egg during the drive. Protesters were visible every where along the parade route though the TV networks did their very best not to show them, it was unavoidable, there were just to many of them.
Most of that anger came from Bush losing the popular vote but being ordained the winner of the Electoral college by SCOTUS but a lot of it was due to Bush being viewed by many as an extremist.
Let's be more accurate.

Which was in response to the fact that almost everybody here were up in arms about a tiny sentence handed to somebody who raped an infant.

Please. We were speaking about a particular instance, and said that he should be taken out of society until he would leave prison in a box, not that we should kill him.
Plainly, the "consensus" of the board was that the crime was so very heinous that the man should never see freedom again, while your argument was the sentence was strict because the child would not remember it.
It was a rubbish argument. The most innocent deserve the most protection.

I said death was too strict for the reasons mentioned, not that the guy shouldn't be imprisoned for a very long time.
