Honestly, comparisons to Hitler always fall flat because Hitler was heinous in unique ways that have never been replicated in modern history.

I have thought for a while that Trump is a lot like his buddy, Vladimir Putin (though Trump is obviously a mental midget compared to Putin). The both hate a free press, they both hate democracy, they both hate democratic institutions, they are both international pariahs, they both derive their power from the plutocracy, they both consider oligarchy an ideal for their respective nation-states, they both primarily act in the best interest of the top one percent, and they both rely on poorly educated religious fundamentalists to derive some measure of populist support and legitimacy.
