First and foremost, it's about envy. It is about taking from the successful and hardworking and giving to the indolent and lazy. It argues that those that can do the most and as a result gains the most from their efforts should willingly keep doing so while giving it all away to those that do little or nothing to deserve being given the fruits of other's labor.

In the early stages of Communism, or Socialism for that matter, the political leaders use envy to whip up the masses against the relatively smaller group of rich and successful people promising to enrich the masses with their wealth. As I said, it's the politics of envy.
