No. The FBI does not have the authority to make anyone answer questions (other than name and address [see errata]), to permit a search without a warrant, or to otherwise cooperate with an investigation. Agents are usually lawyers, and they are always trained as investigators; they have learned the power of persuasion, the ability to make a person feel scared, guilty, or impolite for refusing their requests for information. So remember, they have no legal authority to force people to do anything -- unless they have obtained an arrest or search warrant. Even when agents do have warrants, you still don't have to answer their question.

But if it’s going to be investigated they should investigate ALL OF IT. Can they retrieve her social media? If so, they should because for instance if she’s a hardcore abortion activist that could be a potential motive to make ‘embellishments’ in her account. We’ve heard from plenty of Kavanaugh’s friends. Maybe they should interview Ford’s.

The one thing they could do forensics on is the letter that started this whole thing. They should have a look to see if it was edited in any way. If so, by whom and why.

Problem is they only have a week and since it’s a political stunt [no doubt they’re quite aware of it] I suspect they’ll just talk to people and give democrats more time to come up with something else.

Will Toadstool direct them not to interview witnesses pertaining to K.'s alcoholic binges... including Judge's since they were joined at the hip back then? Will they be instructed to look only at the backgrounds of the accusers, or will they be given more latitude to look at *all* the parties' histories, including his denials of heavy drinking?
