Disagree. Christianity and god(s) are good in the hands of some people. Since there is no onw christianity and no one god the question is almost totally subjective.
Christianity and belief in god(s) has restricted man's progress and will continue to do so. That is incontravertible. To have the answers puts an end to progress.

True. God hates religion in that it does interfere with free will. Our submission to Christ is not forced, but out of love for Him and what He did for us. he is my Father in Heaven and I do get to call Him "Dad". But for those who refuse to believe. Well, all we can do is share God's love in what we say and what we do. Their choice to reject His gift is on them.

I am not in favour of banishing all religions, take Thailand for example if not for Buddhism it would be just as avaricious and dog eat dog as Hong Kong. I might also remind you that it was the Catholic church that was at the vanguard of protests in Eastern Europe during the Communist era. People need something to believe in and I would rather they believed in a man in the sky as an all too real despot like Mao, Stalin or Pol Pot. Surely you have learnt by now that not all change is for the better.

Certainly not. Religion is a product. it has its uses, but we hope that, in time those uses will diminish. I don't like walking sticks and zimmer frames, the world would be so much better if no one needed them, but some do and that's OK.

Actually, it was Peter he was taling to about that. If you're referrring to John 3:3, that speaks of the New Birth or being Born Again. "I tell you the truth, unless a man is born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God" (NIV). Either way, Christ made it abundantly clear there is no other way to God except by Him.
