Which is why many of the communists, and almost all the socialists fled the Russian sector of post-WWII Germany. Stalin was not interested in all the different shades of socialism.

There is a fake quote of Stalin about socialists being "useful idiots." Nothing could be further from his thinking. He believed capitalists would lead to failure, so were the useful ones. The real enemy of Stalin was socialists who could keep their systems running. I am not saying I agree with Stalin, but those were his views.

You can be banned for saying that without backup facts. Here you can say it without any real facts. At FoxNews, you can be banned for saying the real facts. It is called freedom of the press, and it is guaranteed by the Bill of Rights.

It used to be said that freedom of the press was only a freedom for people who could afford a press. These days, it is easier and easier to afford the equivalent of a press. Rather than tyranny, I see greater freedom. Sometimes that freedom can get ugly, like the lies put out by QAnon, but they are freedom.

The novelty yarn is cracking here and there off the machine, no good.
marl it with a carrier. It's good. send it to processing. Washing, drying
and it comes out with the carrier yarn splitting. Put wax on the carrier yarn.
It's not doing it near as much but it's still no good. Add softener. Now it's good.
It needs the wax and softener, will not work without one or the other.
A week passes and the fella that loads and unloads the washer and dryer has
a personal matter and needs the day off. You find someone for the day to
fill his shoes. You find out at lunch that no one told him to add the softener.

Here's the fabric for approval. The girl is right there. She's going to let us know what to do.
She said make it three tenths tighter. Throw it out!

I like Guthrie a lot, but I am saddened by his refusal to admit the extreme excesses of Stalin. Stalin committed brutal genocide, which people like Pete Seeger admitted.

I am not as upset about Guthrie's support of communism in the 1930's. It made sense to a lot of people at the time. He technically never was a communist, having been turned down by the Communist Party... Let that sink in for a minute, the guy who wrote "This Land is Your Land" applied to be a member of the Communist Party, and they said no to him.

Whatever his political views, Guthrie was a great musician, and really wanted what is best for humanity.
