I know this is a struggle, teach, but try to say something relevant to the topic. If someone owned your grandmothers house and paid her property taxes and let her live rent free, what would happen if you pissed off the landlord?

Try to think, and to discuss something that requires critical thinking. Can you manage that teach?

Abe Fortas was pressured to resign from the court for taking 20 K from a benefactor. He resigned, not because there were specific laws against it, but because the impropriety would tarnish the court. His votes may not be seen as fair, but possibly a payback. We used to care about that. There have always been politics in the court, but taking money has been seen as going too far. Thomas should quit immediately.

No struggle...and it's retired teach, because I'm sure you want to be technically correct when addressing me....;) I'd sit down with the landlord and see what we could do if there was a problem... what would you do?

You don't come across as someone who thinks on a deeper level, but ask yourself these questions.

How did Crow even know about these properties in Savannah without being told; why did he buy Thomas family properties instead of Joe Sixpack properties; did Thomas or his mother hold the deed to the property, which was already paid off; Did Mrs. Thomas agree to the sale; why didn't Thomas taking care of his own mother instead of putting her business into the hands of a corporation; if Thomas was only concerned about his mother, why did Crow buy other family properties besides hers; why didn't Thomas wait and sell the property to Crow after his mom died; if all was on the up and up, why didn't Thomas disclose the sale of these properties; and on and on and on.

Something tells me you'd be 100% outraged if the justice had been RBG or Sotomayor. And the big question is, what does Crow hope to get from Thomas?
