The Republicans hate the bill but they love all the trappings and luxuries of their office more. They know any opposition to anything trump wants, no matter how insane - is a death sentence for any Republican. What created this mess in the first place? You guessed it - Republican-appointed judges passing Citizens United which allows rich people to buy politicians.

Republicans, throughout history have made a mockery of our democracy and institutions.

Yea, Nebraska a real hotbed of the Democrat Party...
Nebraska's 2nd went for Harris over trump 51% to 47%. Democrats have the advantage in the district. It is basically the city and suburbs of Nebraska. It was supposed to be barely Republican, but trump has been bleeding votes in the suburbs.

That's why a Republican got the seat.
The reason why a Republican was able to win the seat while trump lost the district to Harris was that Bacon was able to convince voters he was an anti-trump Republican. The only way a Republican can get the nomination is by being so pro-trump it will be difficult to win the general election.

Yep...those darn pesky details again!
Pesky details like the district voted for Harris.

And she claims to have been a teacher :rofl2:
It is sad how little education @TOP has, I hope she is lying.

If on the other hand, the economy, etc., are going along pretty smoothly, it will be difficult for a Democrat to win.
To start with, there is literally zero chance of that happening. We can disagree on many things about trump, but we will all agree trump is a disrupter. he is not going to "smoothly" continue the economy from Biden. It just is not going to happen.

The economy might lurch in a good direction, lurch in a bad direction, or completely collapse, but it will not go smoothly. In Nebraska's 2nd, the Republicans desperately need the suburban vote, and the suburban vote wants stability, at least in the short term. Even if trump can get the economy lurching in the good direction, and in the long term create growth, he will be punished in the suburbs in the short term... Like in the next election.

And actually, politics have become more disconnected from economics, or maybe economics have become disconnected from people's lives. Whatever it is, I doubt a good economy will help trump much, nor a bad economy will hurt trump as much as expected.

I keep coming back to the fact that Harris won this district by a noticeable majority. Democrats will nominate someone to the right of Harris, so will do better than 51%, and Republicans will nominate someone like trump, so will do worse than 47%... If 2026 is a repeat of 2024... But, I think 2026 will be harder on Republicans than 2024. In general, the party in power loses votes in the midterms. And trump is losing support, especially in the suburbs that he desperately needs.

There's a university located in it. That isn't "pretty blue," it's an anomaly. That's why a Republican got the seat. College students don't tend to vote, they're too busy doing beer pong and such...
It is a well educated congressional district, which is trump's problem. trump is losing votes among the well educated.

Here is YET ANOTHER example of what we were talking about. I'll stop tagging you all now since I believe that three times is plenty of times to support the point. It must suck to be Jade Dragon, remaining in denial of this truth about leftists and their reject.exe programming with regard to any supposed "right-wing source".
Oh no, someone is allowed to disagree with you. They should be banned immediately. What good is a debate forum where people are allowed to disagree with you.
