Thompson bombed ?

Here's how it goes.

Guliani gets the north, Romney gets the west, and Thompson gets the south. John McCain gets New Hampshire.

Since most of the early primaries are northern, this basically means Guliani's going to win.

Not so quickly, you underestimate the nieveness of the American voting public and the smear tacticts the GOP will use.

However, I am sure Senator Clinton would stand up to them unlike Kerry did.

If Gullianni wins however we end up with Bush minus the Religous extreemism!
 
I watched the debate, most of it anyway. I thought Thompson was very unimpressive. The talking heads claimed that Rudy "won" whatever that means. I thought Rudy looked like an idiot with a borderline personality disorder as usual.

Romney is their best candidate, in my opinion.

Romney frightens me the most, so I guess that makes him their best canidate in my opinion also.

Agree on your assessment of Thompson. Rudy is definitely not coming off well.

I think you are correct on Romney being the best candidate for the Reps at this time... which is very sad.

We are going to get stuck with Hitlary. Not good.

Right now, that isn't saying much. This crop of Reps is disappointing at best. They need a late entry from someone now... otherwise I may have to join you in rooting for Gore to enter just so that we don't get stuck with Hillary. (and NO... it is NOT because she is a woman)
 
Rudy looked foolish saying line item veto is unconstitutional, while Romney kept saying he used it 98 times.

The line item veto IS unconstitutional. Romney may have used it as a governer, but that's because it was in his states constitution.

Well why then? You don't seem to be a big fan of Gore's, what do you find about him that is preferable to Hillary?
 
If Gore gets in, it will be in the next couple of weeks. IF he wins the Noble Peace Prize next week, it might propell a "grass roots", Draft Gore movement, which I am sure Gore will have set up. Then Gore would jump in and reluctantly accept the responsability of running.

I doubt it will happen, if Democrats were unhappy with the choices, like Republicans seem to be, he would have a better chance.
