Well, as you know changing people's minds takes a long, long time. That was at least a first step.
I used to think that each generation got better and more reasonable as we could see how stupid racism was and how misguided our parents and grandparents had been, and as we had more information to understand what people had gone through and how wrong it was. Perhaps to some extent that is true but it's not enough and certainly not fast enough. And I don't think that enough people, by far, have internalized the message.

This, by the way, is what makes Lindsey's argument in favor of reaching out to the Left so unconvincing, and, when you get right down to it, wacky: he never even mentions the one issue that unites libertarians and lefties as never before – the war.
