The same reason people cared about:
Bill Clinton
O.J. Simpson
Brittany Spears
Paris Hilton
or any number of celbrities caught up in scandal or whose lives appear to be in the toilet. We as a culture are caught up in the rich and famous and what happens (mostly bad) in their lives. Sad, but true.
I find Tiger interesting because he is a great golfer.... I dont care one ounce about his personal life.....
Much like a particular great president we once had...

What is this silly fascination with Tiger Woods. He is staying on his huge fancy house of a ychat where he heeps it at a marina three miles north of here... WHO CARES!

Why do people always have to get involved in people personal lives? Its none of their business.
I promised myself that I wouldn't get caught up in this one, and lasted for awhile, but I got sucked in.
It's too late for me now...
Human nature. Why do people gossip?
That doesn't excuse it.
Well if you can figure out a way to change human nature you will be a very rich man my friend.
I read the scrolling news at the bottom of ESPN but when they start talking about it I tell myself to change the channel....so far so good.
That was me, but then I started seeing some of the actual girls & their interviews, & now I'm transfixed. I just think it's crazy how the guy lived, and how he managed to keep it a secret for so long. It's almost like he was begging to get caught.
It's funny how the image of an athlete has so much to do w/ our reaction to stuff like this. I think people are going nuts about Tiger because he seemed like the last guy you'd expect to be living like this, as opposed to, say, Jeremy Shockey, who people probably wouldn't bat an eyelash about if he was doing the same (and he probably is)...
