time to go puke...

we will have the opportunity soon to see. Hillary will be elected and she is a hawk. see how anti war everyone is then.

It does not matter who is in the WH I will still be against the war in Iraq and the possible attack of Iran.

Some of us stand for our beliefs more than for a party.

these leftards are ok with anybody whose against Bush
Fortunately Hillary and Obama are lightyears smarter than cypress, usc, and duhla.

LOL, I am smart enough not to sell my soul to money or power.
Or for a look at Hillarys legs Topper.

I think he's got his eyes higher. Ever since she flashed that rather discreet and I thought pretty classy, cleavage shot, he's just been out of control.

Wasn't there some "Right to Life" or "Save the Babies" march in DC a while back, that drew tens of thousands of anti-abortion wingnutters? :)
Maybe, but how does it compare to the first Million Man March?

Seriously, right-wingers tend to put their money where their mouth is. When they are pissed their contenders for the nomination for President make less than half what they normally would...

So you guys are cool with the military junta?

They're beating the monks who are protesting. Clinton would have done the same thing.

Yeah, but Clinton would have had this little thing called credibility that our current Preznit lacks. Bigtime.

P.S. - You were talking about Bill, right?

Yes of course. No telling what Hill would do. Probably invade them.

I'm just saying that if Bill Clinton had imposed sanctions on Burma, which he probably did, the people who are mocking Bush now would have supported Clinton over the same action. It is a valid, clear response to the gross human rights violations occurring there.

Damo, its not that rightwingers are too lazy to go protest for their issues...

...its because their issues have little, actual passionate grass roots support.

Cutting taxes for investors, more military spending, cutting social services, and starting more wars is not exactly issues that get masses of people excited to publically petition the government about. Not in large numbers. :cof1:

Not all of their issues are quite that way. Imagine if all those people passionate about illegal immigration hit the streets in order to protect jobs for the American Worker...

Or, if all the people who were anti-abortion actually did protest often, not just "tens of thousands" would be there.

People pretend that they have the higher moral ground because people are in the streets and "passionate", but the measure of the moral high ground doesn't come from numbers of people with signs. Just as it doesn't come from where those abortion protesters think it does.

I think the reason the minutemen and their cohorts can't (and never will) get large masses of people to protest, is twofold: one, I think this issue for most people is ephemeral. Its brought up every few years or every few election cycles to piss people off. Its not really something that most people think about day after day, year after year. Second, I don't think xenophobia is that popular in this country, outside of a core constituency.

I think thinks the issues that people who protest in large numbers, are core, heart-felt issues that people have a lifelong emotional committment to: peace, the environment, civil rights. Yes, even abortion and choice. These aren't ephemeral issues that crop up a couple times a decade, and get people periodically pissed off.

I think that the right, as I said, puts their money where their mouth is, and seriously don't fund campaigns when their candidates ask. And I would put forward the current crop of nominees and their problems seeking funds as evidence of this.

The right just doesn't often take to the streets in loud uproars, and I think it is mostly because they see it as an annoying lefty trait.

Thanks! That puts us in good company: our revolutionary forefathers who protested in the streets of Boston against the Crown and against the British Army.

You righys are a bunch of Torys. :)

Different times, different cultural responses. At that time I am sure that they didn't think of it as an annoying lefty trait.

BTW - Our predecessors were Whigs, not Tories.

Our forefathers are not the only example.

The NAZIs filled the streets with their supporters. Does that make them right?

North Korea gets those streets filled up with all that "adoration" for their "Fearless Leader" (or whatever they call that little troll ;) )
