Article I found interesting (what I could read of it, the rest is behind a paywall), from a journalist who reported things like the Mai Lai Massacre and the Watergate Scandal. I thought it might be good for a bit of discussion...

Amid rampant corruption in Kiev and as US troops gather at the Ukrainian border, does the Biden administration have an endgame to the conflict?

April 13, 2023

The Ukraine government, headed by Volodymyr Zelensky, has been using American taxpayers’ funds to pay dearly for the vitally needed diesel fuel that is keeping the Ukrainian army on the move in its war with Russia. It is unknown how much the Zelensky government is paying per gallon for the fuel, but the Pentagon was paying as much as $400 per gallon to transport gasoline from a port in Pakistan, via truck or parachute, into Afghanistan during the decades-long American war there.

What also is unknown is that Zelensky has been buying the fuel from Russia, the country with which it, and Washington, are at war, and the Ukrainian president and many in his entourage have been skimming untold millions from the American dollars earmarked for diesel fuel payments. One estimate by analysts from the Central Intelligence Agency put the embezzled funds at $400 million last year, at least; another expert compared the level of corruption in Kiev as approaching that of the Afghan war, “although there will be no professional audit reports emerging from the Ukraine.”

“Zelensky’s been buying discount diesel from the Russians,” one knowledgeable American intelligence official told me. “And who’s paying for the gas and oil? We are. Putin and his oligarchs are making millions” on it.

Many government ministries in Kiev have been literally “competing,” I was told, to set up front companies for export contracts for weapons and ammunition with private arms dealers around the world, all of which provide kickbacks. Many of those companies are in Poland and Czechia, but others are thought to exist in the Persian Gulf and Israel. “I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that there are others in places like the Cayman Islands and Panama, and there are lots of Americans involved,” an American expert on international trade told me.

The issue of corruption was directly raised with Zelensky in a meeting last January in Kiev with CIA Director William Burns. His message to the Ukrainian president, I was told by an intelligence official with direct knowledge of the meeting, was out of a 1950s mob movie. The senior generals and government officials in Kiev were angry at what they saw as Zelensky’s greed, so Burns told the Ukrainian president, because “he was taking a larger share of the skim money than was going to the generals.”

Burns also presented Zelensky with a list of thirty-five generals and senior officials whose corruption was known to the CIA and others in the American government. Zelensky responded to the American pressure ten days later by publicly dismissing ten of the most ostentatious officials on the list and doing little else. “The ten he got rid of were brazenly bragging about the money they had—driving around Kiev in their new Mercedes,” the intelligence official told me.

The main specific allegation here is that, instead of buying fuel from approved sources, Zelensky is buying it cheaper from Russia and pocketing the difference.

The obvious question is: why is Putin allowing Russian fuel to be sold to Ukraine, thus "keeping the Ukrainian army on the move"? Do any anonymous US experts have the answer to that?

I'm not claiming to be a U.S. expert, but from what I've read, I suspect the answer has to do with the fact that the pipelines are going through Ukraine and are not just supplying Ukraine. If Russia were to refuse to sell to Ukraine, Ukraine might just steal it (in fact, I believe they've already been suspected if not accused of stealing oil) and they could potentially pull a Nordstream as well.

From what I've seen, Russia has no need to cut off Ukraine's oil supply. It's their ammunition, specifically artillery, that is fast running out. Looks like the war will be over this summer, because Ukraine will run out of artillery. Hawkeye linked to the following video in another thread recently, I think it's spot on:

The end will be cataclysmic defeat of the West, the end of America as a superpower, the end of NATO, and the end of the global economic system.

The Chinese will decide what comes next.

How much our elites will be surprised by what is coming IDK, it looks like the Chinese are already in charge, that our Elites betrayed us for the Chinese and their new world order.

I don't know about that. But I think we can agree that Russia's going to be claiming much if not all of the remaining Donbass region soon.

The way this will go is according to the people I listen to is that the West will no longer have the capacity to continue this war America demanded by late summer or fall, and will sue for peace....the current line at that point will roughly be the new border between Russia and Ukraine.

At this point the Ukrainians will be besides themselves when they figure out how they were betrayed by America, when they realize what they have done to themselves...for nothing.

So is Russia.

I don’t disagree but even if they don’t they’re not losing any more ground.
But if they do get the rest of the Donbas, what next?

Leaked documents show US troops in Ukraine. We're already in WW3.

But how many...I heard one Mind Molder account saying that these documents indicate 17, but it almost has to be at least a few hundred....the West is using stuff in Amerias war in Ukraine that the Ukrainians could not possibly have been trained enough to use.

Do a search on "Leaked documents show US troops in Ukraine".
Yes, but were they the original documents? Or the altered documents?

There are troops teaching the Ukrainians the use of weapons, but not engaged in fighting. We are advisers.

Believe what you want. I saw video of western mercenaries taking land or towns. Keep in mind this is a democrat led WW3.

Ex military become mercenaries. The US military has been on the ground in Ukraine since before 2014.

You gotta wonder how many people are are on temp leave from the US military manning us weapons systems getting paid with US money funneled through the Ukrainians all in the project to claim that American military boots are not in Ukraine.

To the extent this has been done you can be sure that the Russians and the Chinese know, even as this is being kept from the American people by an American government which has betrayed us.
