Really? Were the Palestinians doing anything that might have warranted these attacks, like say launching hundreds of rockets into Israel, or flying kite bombs into that country?

That dodges the question. Were they doing anything that encouraged those attacks? You keep trying to make the argument one-sided. I see this situation as one of action and reaction. Both sides do shit to the other, and from what I can tell, the Palestinians, on the whole, do far more of it evoking a response, than the other way around.

Palestine is a country but it isn't one with a clearly defined territory. Historically, it wasn't a country but a region generally referred to as "Trans-Jordan" with the Palestinian people being a tribe that lived in the region, like say, the Berber.
