Iran hasn't even yet agreed to peace talks, so Trump caved and extended the ceasefire indefinitely without even extracting any concessions from Iran.
They were sending Vance, while Iran was refusing to attend. They pulled the plug at the last second, to prevent embarrassment.
That story about a frenetic Trump screaming at aids when that American pilot went down in Iran makes me think Trump is terrified of having a Jimmy Carter moment with American prisoners in Iran. It may partly explain why he is caving and afraid to reinstate aerial missions over Iran.
HIs current approval rating would make Jimmy feel less lonely.
