I just think that what we're doing - and that applies to a lot of different areas - either isn't working anymore, or will get less effective as time goes on. Just political campaigns alone - we need address how they're conducted and financed in a meaningful way. We simply aren't attracting the best people into that arena, or even close to the best.

But everything. We need someone who can get the parties to work together again (not on everything - there can be compromise without abandoning principle). We need someone w/ a positive vision - not someone who checks polls all the time, or just maintains the status quo.

If someone was visiting the planet for the first time, and observed our government for awhile - and then you told them that the purpose of that government was to serve the people and work toward solutions to the nation's problems, I think they'd be very surprised to hear that.
