He called the people that surround her "garbage".... That's a very limited group of folks and is not the same as literally saying, "The only garbage I see floating around is his supporters."

And yes, if Braindead had said "The only garbage I see floating around is the people that surround him." I'd have likely said the same thing... in his defense.

Reagan helped create the mental health crisis we are dealing with today. He finished the job previous administrations had started to shut all the mental hospitals and the Repubs helped ensure that there was limited funding for community health services for the mentally ill. That way he could give more tax breaks to his wealthy friends.

My comment was directed at another poster, but I am 100% in agreement with you and JD Vance. Reagan's screwup might have saved a large handful of malcontent lefties right here on this board from suffering their TDS.
