trump cant win this: people will be in the streets

I think voting rather than marching is how black women made a difference. Black women have long been strong Democratic voters. Trump is still in office and will be even if the Republicans lose Congress in 2018
It is all a result of the Women’s March and women being inspired to activism. They were responsible for getting out the vote and voting.

They had to already be motivated to take part in the march. I think Trump's election motivated them, not the march.

It's both marching (to be seen and to be heard) and it is voting. One of the beauties of this country is our freedom to take to the streets to be heard. Whether it's Occupy Wall Street or the Tea Party or the Nazis in Virginia or the women in DC last January and around the world, we have the freedom to speak our minds publicly. It's always been weird to me how conservatives think that this is somehow wrong and unpatriotic.... unless of course it's their side doing it.

Both did. We elected a vulgar cretin for POTUS who openly brags about violating women, chatting up his friends' wives, who mocks women for their appearances, and in general thinks of us as lesser than males. We elected a racist imbecile so unaware of his own white affluenza privilege that he casually insults non-whites with stuff like "Where's my African-American?" and "That judge can't be impartial because he's Mexican" and the Pocahontas insult said to the Navajo Code Talker heroes during a recent ceremony meant to honor them.

Marching in the streets won't accomplish anything.

The bloodbath will happen in November at the voting booth.

You can think what you wish, but I know what the march has done, I’ve attended meetings, “huddles” and other local protest organized by local women who were inspired after the march.

do you hear me idiot cons

the American people will take to the streets if trumpy makes headway in killing this investigation

remember the marches when he won?

the streets will be covered with Americans

Cool, it will make it easier for the po-po to find them!! :D

They weren't inspired to do anything after the election? If it took the march to motivate them it doesn't sound like they had much political interest. I find it hard to believe a person who would not normally vote would do so because of a march which would only appeal to those who already opposed Trump.

so Americans protesting like the constitution says they can is meaningless to you?

how very unAmerican of you

and the next presidential vote will be determined by them if they continue to come to the process in numbers like they have been

Nobody suggested it is wrong or unpatriotic to march and demonstrate (peacefully). Some of us just questioned whether the Women's March actually accomplished anything since nothing changed. I don't think you can compare it with the Vietnam marches (although it took years before the war ended). I certainly don't see anything accomplished by the Nazis or Occupy Wall Street. Even the Tea Party rallies consisted of people already sharing those beliefs who already voted regularly.

None of my comments are anti-march. But when a poster says if X happens people will take to the streets that does not necessarily mean it will have any impact. If millions took the street to march in favor of the tax law does that mean you would change your mind and favor it (assuming you opposed it)?
