Trump endorsed Cuomo for mayor.

I’m speculating, but Trump probably wants Mamdani to win. A socialist is the perfect foil for him. And what better way to help that cause than by endorsing his opponent.

Trump is not smart enough for the 4D chess game many try to give him credit for.

There was a flocking of donors, largely viewed as Trump key donors to Cuomo when it seemed Mamdani was going to win the primary, in an attempt to stop him.

That is not something you do if you want Mamdani to win secretly. Trump would have certainly got out to donors to not support Cuomo and to quietly boost Mamdani. We see that in many races where that type of strategic support is given in that way and it did not happen here.

Say what you will about Trump, but he’s a brilliant marketer. He didn’t get where he is without understanding psychology.

That said, who are these major Trump donors in NYC supposedly driving this election? It’s a city of eight million people, so sure, there are Republicans there. But on a percentage basis, it’s a small number. The idea that Republican donors in New York are steering this race doesn’t really pass the sniff test.

If Trump is a brilliant marketer, why did so many of his products go bankrupt?

Mark Burnett was actually responsible for the Trump brand success because of the allusion he created of DonOld and The Apprentice.

The only strength i think Trump had was recognizing he could turn his last name in to a brand.

He was a horrible operator of his named companies (Trump Hotels, Trump Vodka, Trump University, and so on and so on) and all of them would have been bankrupt many times over if not for Daddy money, Mark Burnett and then winning the election.

Crypto may end up being the only legit reason he will maintain as a billionaire and his climb in crypto is not due to skill and is due to illegal use of government.

I say all of that with no hyperbole and can defend it all better than anyone claiming Trump was good at business.

More Republican money for Cuomo

Trump was famous and well known long before The Apprentice. This kind of reaction to me is TDS in action, people who hate him so much they can’t credit him with anything. The fact that he had multiple business failures yet built a brand around wealth and success, to the point where rappers were name dropping him back in the day, speaks to that.

Recognizing that kind of marketing brilliance doesn’t mean you like him or think he’s a good person. It just means you understand what made him who he is. And the refusal to acknowledge that has played a direct role in why he’s been able to win the presidency twice.

His real talent is being a good can man who can read an audience quickly and accurately. After that, he is a blundering fool.

Yes but Trump's history before the Apprentice, is of one of constant business failures.

There was some looking into years prior to the Apprentice and no one was identified who had more bankruptcies and failed business and IRS claimed business losses, that they could identify.

His father was super successful and propped up Trump many times to keep him in the game.

Sorry but your reaction is TDS as i can name all the Trump failures and make a case for what i say, and you cannot make that claim to establish his success but you just want BELIEVE Trump must have been successful as he is still around while denying why.

His talent was having a dad who was worth about $500M (adjusted for inflation) in his time who kept giving Trump do overs. Without that he was out of the game much earlier.

His dad allowed Trump to keep trying and trying, and failing again until a bank bailout and then Mark Burnett saved him, when he was again at the end of his rope.

Even going into the 2016 GE, it was cited Trump was again on the edge of being broke a 3rd time, and while he never thought he would win the presidency he was hoping the run and loss would boost his brand and save him from a 3rd major brush with going broke.

Crypto and the Presidency is ultimately the only thing that saved Trump.

Do you want to take this on as a challenge?

A separate thread where you try and substantiate Trump as a successful business man and i show how the evidence says otherwise?

Report: Trump in 1985-94 claimed $1.17 billion business loss

Accountant testifies Trump claimed decade of huge tax losses

You’re actually making my point for me. His business record is full of failures, no argument there. Yet despite that, he still managed to build a brand that symbolized wealth and success. That’s the brilliance of it. His name became shorthand for luxury and winning even though the reality was often the opposite. Again, it's why rappers name checked him. It's why you heard people say they wanted to live in Trump Tower etc.

That’s what I mean by marketing genius. It’s not about his balance sheet, it’s about perception.

I'm not sure what to tell you dude but that’s not the discussion I was having. I never said he was a successful businessman. I said he was a brilliant marketer. Two very different things.

Hs 'brand' for wealth and success was going broke before the Apprentice revived it. I can name 'Trump X', brands and business after business that were failing or failed.

No one is saying that Mark Burnett and the Apprentice did not save him. Well maybe you are in denial in that.

Lets you and i then create a thread and you try and establish all the Trump X branded businesses that were a success going in to the Apprentice and i will counter with the failures and we will see how the 'BRAND' looks, in terms of a success driving machine.

I do think you are in denial of your TDS. You believed Trump was playing 4D chess with Mamdami and now you seem oblivious to the MASSIVE list of Trump X branded failures.
