Maybe it's an age thing and/or area of the country but I'm 46 and when I was coming up I didn't hear people talk about working in manufacturing. That time had already passed. So for those who remember the '60's and '70's maybe you remember a vibrant manufacturing economy. for those who grew up in a globalized and tech dominated world that time is never coming back.

Hilarious, Obama ran this great country for 8 years scandal free and brought it back from the great recession including the auto industry, real estate and the stock market,
whereas Trump has stumbled through 2 years being triggered by any and every comment he hears and is loaded with scandals, felony convictions, plea deals
and a nest of people who are stabbing him in the back.

How dare Frump even breathe the word Obama.

How dare ANY republican?

The reason the Fed didn't raise interest rates was because we had to recover from the economic collapse caused by Conservative policies, and because Conservatives refused to do anything to help the economy further.

So the Fed had to step in to fill the void created by a lack of economic leadership among Conservatism.

How many times did the Fed raise interests rates in Obama’s booming economy lol?

It's mischaracterizing to call the economy under Obama "booming," but what he did after the massive crash he inherited is remarkable. The stimulus and bailouts were widely maligned, and many on the right predicted that they would spiral us further down, but instead, the stock market tripled, and we experienced a modern record for the # of consecutive growth quarters. We were 3 months away from what economists consider to be "full employment" by the time he left office.

Considering the task he was given, he did an outstanding job on the economy.

we are on track for 3+% ANNUAL GDP growth for the year.
There have been so many repealed and so few created in contrast to previous POTUS,
it's impossible to ID each one's effect.

That's why they call it a "regulatory enviornment". and business has responded to it

I’ve looked in to the regulatory environment and it’s like wading into a morass.

The ‘regulatory state’ is much of the government, in fact.

Giggle, very few. Just at the end when he had the economy back on strong ground. It was raised a few times. The booming economy is the same fucking one trump claims as his.

Trumps economy is on the identical trajectory as Obama's. Barack left him a vibrant and healthy economy which Trump immediately took credit for. Obama had to save us from Bush's mess. Rightys give him no credit for that. The reccovery has been going on for 7 years. Trump is so good that he was fixing the economy 5 years before he ran. That is impressive.

Trump claimed he was going to increase wages. No way. He lied. Just raise the min. wage if that is what he wants to do. He does not. His tax cut was a gift to the top 1 percent. Middle class and lower workers are losing ground. Inflation and fuel prices are taking that all away.

2016 GDP slowed to 1.6% growth. It was one of the weakest recoveries on record. Those are just facts. It's why people like Bernie and Trump gained so much traction. If we had a real vibrant and healthy economy those two wouldn't stand a chance.

Politicians aren't being honest with the American people about our debt, future liabilities and how that will affect us going forward. In part because we the people don't want to hear it.

Again, the reason is because Conservatives refused to do anything to help recover the economy, so the Fed stepped in to fill the void created by lazy Conservatism.

Bullshit.

You haven't looked into shit. You've just repeated something you either gleaned off another poster, or plagiarized from some shitty Op-Ed.

None of you have been able to name one single regulation Trump removed, and how removing it helped the economy.

Trump only became president for the pardon he expects.

The the same one all these Repukacrites claimed sucked until the second the clown in chief was elected. Hell, they were trying to take credit in advance of Trump being sworn in!

Yes, but 2016 was one of Obama's best years of job creation. And wage growth in 2016 was the best in 7 years.

I don't know how you're judging a "weak recovery", but the weakest recovery we've ever had was during Bush the Dumber, and the "recovery" lasted almost 3 years before the Housing Bubble took over. And that was to recover from the weakest recession in a generation; 2001's recession lasted 6 months and didn't even result in negative GDP growth. Obama not only recovered all the jobs Bush the Dumber and the Conservatives lost, but he created 11 million more and reduced the deficit by 2/3 from where he inherited it.

The recovery would have been stronger during Obama had Conservatives not forfeit their duties to govern by obstruction.

Booming is a relative term. Compare what Obama left behind him, to what he was given at the start of his term.
