He talked a lot about himself and gave them a history lesson on West Point, information they were already taught during their time at West Point. It was disappointing, he delivered it in his usual monotone, droning on for 1/2 hour. It wasn’t inspiring at all. I felt bad for the young men and women who diserved better. My husband, a Vietnam vet wouldn’t watch it, he was and always is disgusted by a man who faked bone spurs to get out of serving his country.

Delivered the speech eloquently, jeebus, :laugh: Tom has very low standards, he read it in a monotone drone, he doesn’t know where to pause for effect, ran on sentences. He is not an orator. He doesn’t even read very well.

Trump went to West Point, and what a disaster that was for Trump.
 
Saturday’s ceremony at West Point was the embodiment of the president’s approach. More than a thousand cadets from the class of 2020 were called back from their homes to the campus, 50 miles north of New York City, despite the coronavirus pandemic, so Trump could give a televised speech.

Fifteen cadets tested positive. The rest had to quarantine for two weeks. The whole show was widely disparaged as stage dressing for Trump’s re-election campaign, days after the president crossed a line in the exploitation of military leaders as props.

How did he do, the usual, he read to the left, read to the right, read to the left, read to the right, and then almost fell down the ramp leading off of the stage. Other than than, uneventful

Does your husband have any idea how many people who had the means to do it avoided going to Nam?

Even those without did, my uncle got out of it by getting really drunk and having his wife drop a cinder block on his foot, some went to Canada were they were welcomed with open arms.

Trump is a master at communication, one of the best ever seen, you dont know what you are talking about.

BTW last week Lefty Bret Weinstein called him a political savant, and he is right...given that you are a mod at a political site I suggest that you work on your education.
