Trump has almost no campaign money

I'd rather have neither. But why would people want to send money to Trump when he claims he so's wealthy and can spend $1 billion of his own money?

perhaps they won't......perhaps they would do it because they wanted him to be president.......not your concern, obviously as you seem dedicated to Hillary getting elected......

i know trump tried to get the donors but failed but i seriously think he stumbled into the winning strategy here. Just run a barebones campaign and dont accept donor money. Just do rallies and internet ads and whatever staff you can afford and then keep calling hillary corrupt.

Re: the bolded. You know he's accepting donor money, right?

I guess so considering "I'm so rich, I'm worth $10 billion and could self fund $1 billion in this campaign" won't put any real money into his campaign because he's not worth nearly as much as he claims nor does he have nearly enough cash to fund a general election campaign.

Does it really matter? I think the primaries have shown that the normal rules don't apply to Trump. I find it odd that people are complaining about all of those things that they say they don't like about politics like raising money and all of the ads. Trump doesn't do it and the nattering nabobs of negativism are wringing their hands hard enough to get carpal tunnel

You're not permitted to love Hillary. You are free only to hold your nose when you vote for her, and sigh sadly that you can't vote for the "right woman" or Bernie Sanders.

If you do anything other than that you are bullied, called names, and constant demands are made on you to "explain" this and "explain" that.

Not me, I don't give a crap, but this works to silence a lot of women.

But they vote. Oh boy, do they vote.

If anyone can pull it off it's Trump but I would like to see the Republicans retain control in Congress and that will cost money. I'd rather not see a 2008 repeat which ultimately brought us Obamacare.

I can only speak for myself but I don't complain about money in politics. It's free speech and part of the game. In a perfect world yeah, there would be no money but it's not a perfect world so I'm not on board with liberal desires to limit speech.

If the GOP wants to retain Congress then they should jump in with both feet and support Trump. They will not be able to thread the needle and oppose him and still win their seats. This is the bed they made by ignoring their voters. I have zero sympathy for them. They created this.

It is ironic that you complain about bullying and calling names and making constant demands of others

Oh well you are the queen of irony

Really? Using that line again? Because I refuse to support a big government loving liberal like Trump it means I want Hillary as President?

To me that's a suicide pact and I think a lot of others see it the same way.

no.....but some of you have made it clear you love Hillary......don't pretend you haven't.....

I just find the logic kind of hilarious. Trump comes out, says he's really rich & will self-fund his entire campaign, then seems to panic about needing $100K and "quietly" slips into the mode of clearly needing to raise a lot of money fast.

Someone questions that, and you immediately say they're trying to get Hillary elected.

I mean, does anything scream "hack" more than that? You fell right into line the second Trump was clearly the nominee. No questioning of the candidate allowed!

Trump DID pay his way for the primary campaign.....now its the general election campaign, are you really too stupid to get the difference...

never mind, its obvious you are...

Sad that its still money that buys the elections ....

Maybe I'm misunderstanding you here but when Trump said he would self fund do you think he meant only for the primary but not the general?

It's really funny that you follow up that 1st point by insinuating that I'm stupid.

Let's go through this really carefully, bravs: Trump said he'd self-fund. The ENTIRE REASON he said he'd self-fund was so that he would NOT be influenced like the other candidates. He made it very clear: if you accept money from other sources, you are beholden to those sources, and you will govern accordingly.

Let me ask you, and we'll see who isn't using the ol' noggin here: do you REALLY think he was just talking about the primaries?

Maybe I'm misunderstanding you here but when Trump said he would self fund do you think he meant only for the primary but not the general?

That was the campaign he was in when he said it..., the primary campaign...do you think his self funding meant forever....?

I do. Part of his appeal was that he was not going to be beholden to big money donors. Many people said that when asked why they supported Trump. It's a complete bullsh*t premise is you're going to take money from big donors in the general because at the end of the day you are beholden to them if you win the office.

If he officially becomes the Republican nominee at the convention it becomes the duty of the RNC and Republicans to help finance the election campaign....

if they didn't HE will accused of being a fat cat buying the presidency with his personal money.....

either way, the whiners will whine....

That dodge wasn't even artful.

No matter when he accepts the money, it destroys his whole reasoning for not accepting money in the 1st place. I mean, you have to be the ultimate apologist not to see that.

He said he'd self-fund to avoid being beholden to donors. Now, he's accepting donor money. It can't be any plainer.

No, that's not it. You know people have said they support Trump because he's self funding and he won't be beholden to special interests. You know that.

What does that mean then if he's taking big donor money?

His whole campaign had been built around him claiming to be fabulously rich and as a result he can self fund and not be beholden to special interests. He says it on the campaign trail all the time. No one is saying he's trying to buy the election.
