Epic proportions? No one that has held the office of the President has had such low numbers in primaries as Trump.
Of course it's been over 100 years since someone that has lost the Presidency has tried to run again and Grover Cleveland and Theodore Roosevelt didn't have to win primaries to become candidates.

Both Biden and Trump are running incumbent campaigns. They refuse to debate their contenders.

And yet Trump has a very significant proportion of typical Republican voters who are refusing to accept him as the incumbent or the nominee and will continue to basically 'burn' their voter even though they know Nikki cannot win.

Trump is more senile than Biden and that is proven. When the voters have accepted you as the nominee and they consolidate behind you, you do not need big turnout as there are no opponents who are going to turn up and vote against you. That is a sign of strength.

This is not about the Repubs winning the presidency. Poll after poll says Halley polls better than Daffy Donald head-to-head against Biden. If you are a Repub, you would back Halley. The cult of Trump is strong in primaries. In the general, real Americans who care about the country will vote. The thought of America turning into a nasty dictatorship does not appeal to many Repubs. They can resist the Trump con job. You will hear Trump talk about being cheated out of a victory. Then the call to attack the politicians will follow. Trump is America's greatest threat since the War of 1812.
