Trump is considering making a nation-wide speech on race and unity

Donald Trump is incapable of doing this. It isn't in his DNA. He has no ability to empathize, therefore he can't deliver on this. I suppose it isn't really his fault. He is a divider. It's a political calculus, and it's the only strategy he has the ability to employ. If he decides to do this, he will read off the teleprompter like a hostage video. The cult will scream and applaud like trained seals, the rest of the nation will be totally unmoved. This is what you elected. Deal with it. If you hire someone as a brain surgeon, it's best to determine if he has the qualifications to perform brain surgery. You didn't do your due diligence.
 
Trump will have it written by people who know what trump needs to say to try and mitigate his racism and hamhandedness. It will be a political message and Trump will not believe a bit of it. He will read it badly and the rightys will say it proves he is not a racist. The fact that he has to make a speech saying that is informative and damning.

I don't expect you to forgive me right away just because I am saying these things. That would be too much to expect. So I pledge to you that I intend to earn your forgiveness by denouncing the hate groups right here and now. I'm sorry, I am sorry, I am so sorry. I promise I will do everything in my power to turn this around. I expect you to hold me to my words today. From this day forward I will be a different person. You'll see. My first act of repentance will be to resign immediately, release my tax and financial records, and answer to whatever charges may be forthcoming against me now that I no longer enjoy presidential immunity from prosecution. Vice President Pence is now your president.'

Nope, the cultists just wanted someone like themselves -- bully, braggart, misogynist, racist, full of bullshit and the ability to whip up the masses into a froth. The *last* think the Thief Executive wants is to unite Americans. He has spent years convincing the cult that (D)s are evil, bad, horrible people. To even suggest uniting at this point would 1) admit that he was lying all along, and 2) enrage them and turn them against him. He doesn't WANT unity. He wants war... and so do they.

He got what he wanted.
 
I guess he considered it and decided against it. Instead he tweeted out encouraging violence against protesters at his rally tomorrow. What's the over/under on how many people will die tomorrow due to Trumps incompetence and his cults hatred and ignorance? A thousand? More?
