Trump found Kim useful to provide him with international chops. Trump was a damn real estate vendor and manager. When he became the accidental president, he looked about for some international respect. He settled on Kim. The US presidents had long ago decided not to give Kim any international respect. Both Kims father and grandfather tried hard to get American diplomats to meet with them. Every president, except for one, understood that NK was willing to do a lot to get a meeting. They dangled meetings and played with terms and concessions they would get. Trump blundered right through all that and gave Kim a huge present. Of course Trump did not know what a mistake he made. NK was the hermit kingdom and Trump ,for free" put them on the international stage. Trump did not know better and did not understand what he had. That's Trump. Go by your large gut. He is the only expert.
