The message to Americans is that: if you get rich and powerful enough, the law does not apply to you.

America needs some prosecutors with backbone, and all we have to lead them is Garland.

Confidence in government has already been shaken by Reagan and the Powell Memo. Pretty much the whole right hates government and thinks 'government is the problem.' And now the left is losing confidence in government to prosecute serious nation-shaking law breaking.

What is left?

When citizens no longer believe in their government a country is toast.

We just got used to Leaks- So now the leaking stopped and it looks like the Justice Department is not doing anything.

The only reason Mum is the word for Garland, is because he may be trying to over-correct an image problem Trump started when he corrupted the Justice Department from the top down!

The investigation is their job. It is one of the functions of congress that is part of the job description. So the one thing you no is wrong.
 
It is not Congress' job to act as a prosecutorial body. Their investigative and subpoena power extend to just legislative purposes. So, why is this Stalinist- Kafkaesque committee acting like a bunch of prosecutors and a grand jury?

That is, the Supreme Court has repeatedly ruled that Congress can only subpoena and investigate if there is a valid legislative purpose behind it. Congress cannot act as a prosecutor and grand jury against criminal conduct except in an impeachment.
